This is from Disney's most interesting period (from like 1975 to 1990) - When they really didn't know for sure how they should be as a company, so made all kinds of oddities during those years!

@@cafeAmericano Yeah, I find the old '60s Disney the most charming nowadays, like Herbie The Love Bug (1969) / Bedknobs & Broomsticks (1970) / Blackbeards Ghost (1968) / That Darn Cat! (1965) etc etc (They're WAAAY before our time, but they're just so genuinely sweethearted and funny little comedy / adventure films!) ❤ (it all seems so blandly buisiness-like right now)

For me it is the darkest era between 1970 to 1987. Then Disney revived again with Duck Tales Series and the Little Mermaid movie at the late 80s.

I’m 13 years old at the moment, and I’m obsessed with Tim burton. In some odd way he has helped me channel my suicidal thoughts into dark yet beautiful drawings and art pieces. He inspires me and by watching his work, makes me think that darkness has this abstract beauty. I do not fight my depression any longer, as it only makes it worse, instead I explore the darkness.

I was always fascinated by his films. I guess it started with the stop-motion film Corpse Bride that I got to watch with my nieces. It’s so unique, gothic and dark and I loved it lol. And then I researched about him and realized he directed Edward Scissor hands. Like that’s one of the creepy but unforgettable films that I watched as a kid during Christmas specials. I remember these kind of films since we have limited VHS and cable access back in 90s so you only get to see these films once in a while. You see things differently as a kid so you remember stuff. No wonder I loved his later films since I already got hooked with his style with Edward Scissor hands. I love the dark stuff but also the over the top ones like Alice in Wonderland and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I am yet to watch the Sweeney Todd version tho (because they made it musical I think)since I liked the English version which is macabre and dark. I remember that and Perfume lol

While I did come across Poe in say 8th grade, I'd say Vincent here could use some therapeutic aid. For he is only seven and knows well Poe & Price, And his mother's ignorance does not make her nice. A boy that young knowing well of stories so grim, Me thinks the woman's clueless or otherwise rather dim. (When I hear/read poetry I start trying to type/write/speak in poetry.) What I'm getting at is, while Vincent is a marvelous piece, in it's animation/display and for how long that poem goes, it feels the mother should've maybe kept a closer watch on the boy...after all Price & Poe have some tales to tell that will leave your face...filled with woe. ;) And also, if I may add, the reason the muscles or body in general still react to electricity would be that the body, (or again, at least the muscles, heart, and organs), haven't decomposed enough if at all since I'm sure that amphibian was preserved.

Oh man...I very VERY vaguely remember watching these two as a kid. Not so much the Vincent one but the Frankenweenie one. I had like vague memories of the windmill burning and the dog but I thought I made it up because no one ever talks about these nor do they ever show up anywhere. Agreed. Tim Burton's work is definitely unique. While I do admit that his 'Family' movies are a bit on the dark side, they still are family friendly. At first I was hesitant to show my kids A Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride, but eventually we did let them see Corpse Bride and they were fine with it. We recently started showing them A Nightmare... At any rate they didn't like all the witches in Shrek IV. The Nightmare Train from Little Train that Could (2011) spooked them as well.

It's a beautiful piece, the dog it's more expresive, you get the chance to get more involved in the dog-kid relationsip, wich makes it even worse when sparky dies. See, not many people understand these kinds of things. For most people it is either creepy, disturbing, or scary. But I find that stuff intriguing. That's one of my main reasons I don't have many friends is because I'm a bit "strange" and they don't have anything in common with me. I've always felt a bit like an outcast but I'm used to it.
