I met Vincent Price when I was 12 around 1969 at the local Sears store. He was opening an art show. I followed him around all night. He was extremely nice to me. I asked him to sign about 10 cards that they gave out at this show. He asked if I was going to sell them. I said no, I was going to give them to my friends. He said “ in that case I will sign all you want”! He was super nice to this star struck little kid!

I met Vincent Price once when he was on a lecture tour, right after he did the Thriller video. I was twelve years old. After the lecture, me and my dad waited around the backstage door, next to his limo, until he eventually came out. There were a few other people who were waiting there with us. He was very tall and regal looking and had on a big, black coat (he looked like he’d just stepped out of one of his films). He walked up to me first and we spoke for a moment. What a gracious, remarkable gentleman he was. A legend…there’s just no one around like that anymore.

I actually MET Vincent in the mid-80's at a "Cousin's Subs" Commercial shoot in Milwaukee Wisconsin. I was and always WILL BE a HUGE Fan! I didn't just get to meet him and shake his hand... he invited me to sit down and talk and we talked about his movies and cooking and art and I asked him to sign my copy of his cook book "Cooking Price-Wise". He was just... BEYOND COOL! I got the chance to tell him that One of my ALL TIME FAV Movies of his is and always will be, "The Last Man on Earth" which was the ORIGINAL "Zombie/Living Dead" movie that begat ALL of the OTHERS to come after! He Gave us SO MUCH! The night he passed... I actually had a dream about him that I was sitting and talking to him. I didn't know he had passed until that VERY Moring, when I was at my job at the time... and on the radio they announced that he had passed! And I KNEW why I had that dream about him! His movies and characters will ALWAYS be an inspiration to me!

My Mom and Dad met Vincent Price in London back in the early 70s, he was putting his wife into a taxi. He signed an old opera ticket for them, Mom said he was very kind, and gracious. Mom also met Chrstopher Lee a few times at fan conventions in the 70s, he signed the novel Dracula for her, The Man With The Golden Gun, and numerous photographs. Old school actors were always happy to meet their fans back then.

You wondered if the family in the Price house were aware of its legacy. They were. In the mid 90s, I went to hear his daughter speak at a bookstore just a few miles west of the house. She said she visited the house for the first time in her life earlier that day. She knocked on the door and introduced herself. The owners welcomed her in and gave her a tour. I no longer live in St. Louis. Your video brought back some great memories. Thank you.

I'm a newspaper editor in southeast Missouri, located about 90 minutes or so from St. Louis. When I was editor of the Mountain Echo in Ironton, Missouri, I learned that Vincent Price's sister had lived in town many years ago. Her house still stands but is now on the property of a bed and breakfast. Knowing the B&B owners, I took a tour of the home and came into possession of a photo of Vincent with his sister and daughter standing outside it. Many of the residents in the Arcadia Valley have fond memories of Vincent and his sister eating at the town cafe in town and patronizing various stores. All have said that Vincent was a perfect gentleman, very down to earth and was always glad to speak to people or sign an autograph for those who asked. I ended up writing a story about Vincent's visits to the area and had the opportunity of speaking several times with his daughter who at that time owned an art gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

What I like about Boris Karloff was the fact he was so decent. Reading a story about him where he had to smash up a laboratory and he had to smash a lot of glass. After the shoot, he got a brush and started cleaning up and a floor manager went up to him explaining a stagehand would clean it up. He said, "I made the mess, I'll clean it up." Not many actors today have so much humility as he did.

I think he is wrong about Washington University for 10 buildings were there before Vincent's family built house. Wash U started to be used in 1905. They waited until after the 1904 Olympics and World's Fair. Maybe that building was added later but 103 acres of land owned was owned by Wash U before the 1900s. He made it sound like they built the University after Vincent's family lived on street. A quick Wikipedia search would provide the information.
