I’m Vincent Racaniello, Earth’s Virology Professor, and I believe that education should be free.
I’m also a professor of virology at Columbia University in New York. I’ve been doing research on viruses since 1976, and teaching virology in classrooms and online since 1999. On this KZbin channel I share videos of my lectures, podcasts, and more.
New videos are uploaded several times each week.

The U.K. didn’t get the vaccine until 1968. I had measles as a child and still had measurable antibodies 50 years later.

Most of those who claim that an ancient book supersedes everything else still manage to shop up at a hospital if / when they get very sick (and not a church or yoga studio or vitamin shop).

In our hometown (Rochester, New York), a nurse practitioner was charged with falsification of immunization records so children could attend school without the requisite vaccines.

But if they didn't allow the children into school, the nurse did the right thing. The law isn't always morally right.

Public school vaccine requirements are determined by state and local school districts. If someone disagrees with the laws their elected officials enacted they should vote accordingly, not break the law.

The Jewish rabbinical view is that pork derived medications do not break the prohimition in eating. The reason is that the iinsertion of the product into the body was not a species of eating. Of course lay people without access to learned writings, may sincerely but wrongly believe that the vaccination wou,d breach religious law. So it behoves religious leaders to explain this.

Unfortunately I think he goes deeper. There’s a growing group of people who do not believe in the existence of viruses and for that reason they will never agree to vaccination for themselves or their children

@@toms7695 Hello. You do not believe viruses exist? Believing in incorrect facts does not mean someone may not be a 'nice people', although I do understand why you stated this as many 'deniers' can become very emotional and aggressive if their 'beliefs' are challenged. I have had discussions before with people who do not believe viruses exist. The 'cordial' discussions usually focus on the fact that as a eukaryotic cell is required to allow a virus to replicate for study, it is impossible to culture 'pure virus'. This correct fact is then conflated to believe 'impurities' from viral culture are the cause of all 'structures' observed in viral visualisation and results seen in viral detection, viral activity assays, and every other viral analysis method. There appears to be no way to ever convince that just because a virus requires a eukaryotic cell to replicate it is not a 'unique infectious entity' and is ONLY a product of the 'culture methods'. If however you feel you would like to explain your position, I certainly believe in respectful debate.

@@toms7695the question is , how ignorant are you ? How many studies Todd you have to ignore ? How many cases of transfer from person did you have to ignore ? Why do you think we physicians are often able to predict which virus is it based on history and other cases in family and the test result confirm our suspicion and are positive for very same virus ?

Reading about it and asking my AI friend measles is problematic for malnourished and low vitamin A. Most vaccine preventable diseases are similar. Why don’t we fix the malnutrition? Seems crazy in the USA 2024
@fyang1429
@fyang1429 Ай бұрын
One obviously doesn’t need to be malnourished to get measles - malnourishment probably just makes the terrible disease even worse. Getting vitamin A doesn’t fix the problem.

Public school vaccine requirements are fixed by each individual state. Can you imagine a state requiring a blood draw to test for Vitamin A?
@jaykanta4326

Because measles deaths aren't dependent on vitamin A levels, it's a far more complex issue. Anyone claiming vitamin A is a cure for measles is a moron.

COVID vaccines are 21st century Many of the COVID vaccines on the market use mRNA technology but more E traditional ones are available.Billions of doses have now been given and side effects are very rare indeed. Joe blow, the man in the street, is safer vaccinated than unvaccinated. Figures don't lie
