Nice trio this time. Also helped that Tyler isnt that used to skaven. So He asked questions Nobody playing skaven would. Helped to get a lot of good coverage. Thanks for that Tyler and thanks vince for the cool skaven Show. This week i am currently painting my stormfiends and i got to say painting them after Thanquol and knowing they arent that good in Packs of 3. Took a Lot of time to Finish them. Feels Like your ogroids 😂😂 will probably Not buy Another 3 of those.1st time i wasnt that motivated to painting the skaven Boys since it took longer than Thanquol. But this Video helped motivating me to finish them

This may be a video thats mainly about Skaven, but we all know who the real star of the show is! That beautiful salamander is absolutely amazing. I'm sure the reason why Tom wasn't on this episode is because hes been struck silent by this models perfection and hasnt been able to utter a sound in days. Me too, Tom. Me too.

The fins are based around the blessing spawning pool of Chotec the Seraphon god of the sun. My hope is that we get more of these blessed spawning units.

Don't forget you can give the Master Moulder an artifact which gives +1 to Hit to nearby Moulder units. Added to the Crack the Whip ability you can very easily get Rat Ogres onto 2s and 2s.

Everybody's getting ready for Adepticon! I'm feverishly painting my Lumineth and constantly redoing the mental math for long I can spend on each unit. Hopefully I'm not painting on the plane, or the night before...

Over the years it’s been a combination of commissioning, buying, borrowing, surprise gifting (thanks Anthony and Vince), and now actually painting. I’m looking forward to having a fully-painted army on the table…that’ll be a good day.

Firstly I really enjoyed watching your review. It was pretty good. Secondly: There are a few thinks I like to mention. The smash: he is great but we all know it can be done better. Let me introduce you to the suicide rat. The suicide rat: basically a clalword that gets dreaded deathfrenzied, either ones or twice if your enemies for some reason fights before him. Buff the clawlord up with skavenbrew and use the mighty warlord action to give him another 2 attacks when attacking first. Skitterleap or dreaded skitterleap him forward or if possible just move him up to give him the possibility to get a good charge roll of. Throw him into any enemy hero or u it you want to see dead-dead (perfect for the bigger kind of heroes) Use his command trait to gain another +1 attack. With that said the clawlord will now attack with 6attacks +4 +d3 (for the wounds he’ll loose from skavenbrew) So in total that would be around 11-13 attacks hitting on threes and threes with 2 damage. If he dies, and you managed to get another enemy unit within range of him that didn’t yet attack he’ll be able to get another +2 attacks from his command trait and the other buffs still applied while him getting another 2 attacks as he has lost 5 wounds and is attacking in death. So basically another 15attacks (+2 ct, +2 ca and skavenbrew, +5 for wounds lost) So in total this guy is going to attack with 26-29attacks with 2 damage and rend -1. Now remeber this is the model without any upgrades. We could easily try and get 2 battailons allowing us to get another 2 artefact which we could thens put on our suicide rats for more more more damage. So warpstone charm to buff the rend, manticore poison to wound better, or you could make one of the clawlords into a wizard giving him flaming weapon. So basically 26-29 attacks with 3 damage. If we take the endless spell purple son, we can even amplify their rend by another -1 so basically buffing the suicide rat combo even more. So in my opinion, yes the smash rat works, but the suicide rat is much better, especially since they are dead and can’t try and backstabb you afterwards. As for another combination I think will also do amazingly is rattling gun weapon team spamm with the purple sun instead of stormfiends spamm. Rattling gun weapon team will do so much damage. And since more more more warplead ability can’t get any doubles with their 4d6 roll they make (see core rules 1.5.1 Dice) they are probably the unfairest army list combination that ever existed for the rats. So even more fun😆. Ps: also having multiple rattling gun weapon team will make the choice of how to split the attacks incredible hard for your opponent. It’s pretty fun. We are after all trying to play the mind game with our opponent. Lastly remove the stormvermins from the galletian bodyguard battailon combination with the deathmaster with the artefact. Just take a unit of 15 plague censer bearers. They cost as much as 20 stormvermins do the damage of 40stormvermins buffed to their fullest potential, and are more survivable then 20stormvermins. So all in all they are just better. Also they will easily be in range of the deathmaster to be activated as they are only halve the models

Great show as always! I only played 2 games with my Skaven so far (only 1 at 2k pts) and I'm not sure if I got lucky but my Verminlord Deceiver roared Kragnos (so he was locked on a 2+ save) and I had put the +1 hit/wound vs a hero onto him. I don't think I did more than 3-4 chip dmg with other units max and then the Verminlord Deceiver sliced through him like butter even overkilling him with the -3 rend dagger attacks (I think almost everything went through). Slynk and his crew underperformed this time though... I expected an average of 8 MWs and I think they did 0 or 1 (very swingy?). Here are some questions: 1- Master Moulder, if I understand the FAQ properly, the artefact that boosts his wounds to 10 (and 1 wound regen per turn) does not strip the GC keyword away from him (so he could have 10 wounds and be immune to shooting when standing besides battleline)? I think that he loses "watch out sir" though so it's a little confusing to me. 2- I keep on tinkering with lists and have so many options for the last few points. I want to use 6 Stormfiends and 4 rat ogors but although I had enough to take down Sons of Behemat no problem, I'm afraid the -1 rend and low MW output might not cut it vs tankier armies. Between a Purple Sun (cast from Grey Seer) for -1 rend or a Skaven Priest with Curse (extra MWs and maybe great plague if lucky) which one do you think would help more in general? 3- If I'm not mistaken, with the Curse Prayer, on hits of 6s, I need to select EITHER the +1 MW OR the other effect (like Rat Ogors or Stormfiends shock gauntlets exploding 6s)? How does that work with models like Skaven and his Pack for example? Does this mean that they would deal D3 MWs (+1 from curse) or I have to choose between D3 MW vs D3 regular dmg +1 MW? 4- Finally, any tips for using Slynk? He did good on my 1st game at very low pts but did really bad on my 2k game (unlucky rolls). I love the models and really like how the deepstrike is reliable (no need for a spell cast) but with GCs, they can no longer shoot into small support heroes as they pop which hinders their usefulness. Then, even if I do make it, I don't think they have enough dmg on their own to reliably take down significant threats and if I kill a small support hero but Skynk and his crew get killed on the next turn, I'm not sure the 220 pts investment is a very good trade. Sorry for the long post, all good if you only manage to answer 1-2 questions.

1) That is basically correct, he would keep GC, but he loses out on the other items that require 9 wounds like the Look Out Sir. 2) The Grey Seer, just for the versatility and better range. 3) You have to choose, a single roll can only trigger 1 thing. 4) Very carefully is the short answer, he's a threat behind the line that can strike and fade (as he can retreat after he attacks and has the ASF). But basically, he's power perceived and you need to get him to make your opponent move and react in ways that are negative to them. Hope that all helps.

Surprised one of the lists to discuss wasn't an example of a null deploy. Just another flavor. Really sold me on trying pure GC hero packages though with the lists shown today. The super tanky Clawlord is new to me. Another strat combined with skitterleap, is using the Gnawbomb relic, combined with home-fielding your gnawholes. You can essentially shift the majority of army to another angle. Combined very scarily with an artillery package. To get more mileage out of the Stormvermin+Deathmaster combos, again playing fair warhammer, you can get effectively a beta strike with them by having them 2.5 inches behind a line of clanrats. Solid when you expect to get charged next turn or your opponent lets you go first in a round. The clanrats will get lifted but the stormies are piling-in safely without having to use the deathmaster in the first combat. This is my go-to as of late because of our high drops, and the fear of double-turns is always there. To Tyler's point about the season being more and more about scrums in the middle and holding points, its important to get that mileage out of our favorite rats.

Skaven should have borderline broken rules with the balancing factor of when it goes wrong, it goes "your deployment zone is a glowing green radiation crater" levels of wrong. But you might still win if your opponent's army was too close to yours when it all went supercritical.

Mmmmm Skaven. I agree with Sean, my storm fiends always seem lacklustre to the point that I've stopped running them, just too many points for my tastes. Really enjoying Rat Ogors with an HPA for flavour at the moment. Doing my best to get it all painted for a tournament next month.

Can someone clarify how the interaction of the Verminlord Deceiver with shadow trinket and then scurry away works and how to use it? It was a little confusing in the stream to understand.

When you use Shadow Magent Trinket at the start of the Combat Phase, the model gains Always Strike First. You then activate before anyone else (who doesn't also have ASF), and then when you activate the model, you utilize Scurry Away and just leave.

@@danieldombrowski5049 Nope, it's activating during the ASF phase, which doesn't utilize one of your normal activations (Core rules 12.0, but specifically 12.4 and 12.5). Upon activation, you aren't fighting, instead of fighting, you are using the Scurry away ability.

Yay, rats! Keeping my fingers crossed that they will get a massive model range update (like Seraphon) within the next two years. Most of the new models look pretty cool, but it seems hard to build an effective army that isn't forced to use at least some crappy old (resin? metal??) minis or 3D prints.
