Yeah, it's just a shame that they made all their decisions based on money. New weapons? Naw, selling skins for new characters earns more. Not selling enough enhancement runes in the cash shop? Make the accessories enhancable. Need to give players a reason to hunt new gear? New stat: Counterforce. Honestly, some people blame the RISE update, but many problems existed long before that.

The combat in this game has to be the best of any action MMO ever made, too bad Nexon is gonna Nexon and I'll be shocked if this game still exist in the next few years.

I'm actually coming back to it after about a decade, and I'm amazed it's still around at all, it's about the best action MMO I've ever played. It seems like we need a sequel at this point though.

But in seriousness, given how they essentially left vindictus to die while pretending they gave a crap abt it by adding new characters but NO, absolutely NO new content nor fixes nor anything, im not so hopeful for V2, especially since their cashcow, Mabinogi still exists, is still popular (somewhat, they all but killed the NA playerbase) and is getting a ue overhall, im not at all hopeful for V2's success. Vindictus literally died BECAUSE mabinogi exists. actually, Mabinogi is why most nexon properties die. They dont give a shit about them.

honestly it feels better in term of gear progression nowadays, game also give your free outfits every now and then with inner, hair coupon and whatever not there are some pretty good events once in a while as well only problem i got is it is still very repetitive and can take sometime to find party.

As someone who played since EU release and had to quit around mid S2 to early S3 back in the day where gear gating and extreme RNG was a deal breaker, coming back in late 2023 I can say gearing up is a lot more fair and doable now. Yes you won't be able to enter the most high end space time fracture raid anytime soon or the 2 last lvl 115 raids but everything else you will be able to access with your progress. It's also worth mentioning events give a lot of char customization scrolls (perma hairs, makeups, inners) and even entire outfits and you can also buy those permanent customization scrolls for affordable gold amounts on market too. I've not really felt like I had to open my wallet since I came back. If you want the latest big tiddy outfit they have on gacha sure but otherwise you really don't have to. Had VVIP (their premium account status thing) up the whole time from what they give for free during events. The raw performance tho I will agree is a disgrace, they clearly have not had a solid backend dev in their team for a decade to sort it out. Yes it's source engine but in some scenarios it runs worse than HL2 back in the day. But on the other hand we have on average much faster clocked CPUs so that helps mitigate it to an extent.

Thank you for sharing, I do feel the same about the game overall. There is a lot of free stuff with regards to customization that you play around with, instead of having to open up your wallet, so it does make the game more enjoyable to play. Once the performance issues are out of the way, one could still enjoy a casual dungeon with friend, I'd say ;)

The biggest Issue the game had wehn i first played it were the un skippable dialogues, it felt like 80% NPC talk and 20% actual gameplay

Vindictus didn't die(I consider it a dead game compared to how it used to be) due to lag or shit like that as we kept playing even through p2p boats that could only be hosted by people that had enougn bandwidth. VIndictus died right after they removed tir coins and started to push the cash shop even further. I doubt more than 5% of the people that played back when we only had 2 season are still there. Season 3 made most of the community angry(at least eu) since all the money spent on runes for level 80 gear was wasted, as even bad purple gear with little to no upgrades gave 1-2k more attack than +10 plus armageddon or noblesse; since you couldn't buy coins with gold anymore the gap with whales increased even more, and those who weren't as geared as us top guilds were kinda left out of raids tue to stat requirements. I was "lucky" as my kai easily hit 20k and 80 as/bal and my obsession with break offs basically had me invited most of the times, also had a fiona on the side to solo some other bosses but yeah, people really struggled and started leaving the soon to be p2w and cutting off runes like that was the nail in the coffin imo.

They could fix the game by making free upgraded version of all gear, at the cost of not being able to equip cosmetics. So if you want cosmetics you have to craft your gear upgrade it etc. Since most whales will not give up their cosmetics that should not reduce their cashflow, while vastly increasing player base, which should actually increase their income. Basically, they need to copy POE's model.

@@kyuhnfukaikage1283 Path of exile. While my suggestion is not exactly POE model, the underlying idea of making microtransactions of purely cosmetic value is the same. Of course, POE is a huge success with vastly higher revenue then Vindictus, globally.

The game is user friendly up until lvl 105 (you can skip stories, and receive a lot of gear for free). Once you reach lvl 105, I would recommend that you apply for a guild and try to party up with those people. I found a guild myself that is really friendly and helps you through dungeons etc.

its a source game from 2010 how are you not running it at 120+ fps at all times? the stutter is from the engine itself it's present in all games that use it, look at half life 2, tf2, css, garrys mod they all do the same thing. it will never be fixed.

They don't deserve the love they deserved to get back in 2010. They became a standard microtransaction money greedy game. back in the day Stamina for dungeons didn't exist, only a limit on raids. So yeah... The game used to be a masterpiece, played it for 10 years until things just went too far for me... Taking away the Malina runs like twilight desert 70-80. Had so much fun with friends. This game is dead and only few people remain. No one I played with back then still plays this game. So opinions are opinions and I respect yours but my opinion is that nexon and this game can both fuck off.

If @nexon enables cross-platform for consoles and PC, we'll have a stronger player base. Ever since RISE Update, this game has been too easy and boring. Hopefully, @VindictusOnline will have new promotions like animated series, movies, comics, and/or collaborations soon to attract new players!

It just seems like Nexon would rather focus their attention on new F2P games like War Haven or The Finals. Introducing new characters are not the only way to save this game, especially when they're removing content like PVP.

Why u should play the game: You can sit nearly anywhere and you can climb ladder and and and. Amazing a 100% must play lel. But srsly it seems u didnt played games like Guild Wars 2. To be honest even the enarly dead Rift Mmorpg is still fun. But Vindictus .... as @kjhin commented. So many hours to reach the state where the game "starts" and you can finally play with other together. Crazy. I tried it but its super boring and way to easy but costs hours and hours.

@@Ikari-unit-01 The combat was top tier, that's what made me fall in love with Vindictus. It was a MMORPG that really put itself apart from things like TERA ETC. I played it for around ten years. Was best Karok EU for a while even. Shame this game died like it did. I still miss those good old days, staring at the stars when lying dead in Twilight Desert with 2 others commenting how beautiful the night sky was while the final one alive solo'd Ikrium.
