Tempted by this review and bought in Flipkart Goat sale. I liked it. It's good for listening songs that too 90s and 2000 songs at night time. But for watching movies and any bass songs it won't give that satisfaction. Bass lovers should stay away from this. I purchased @ 22000. I tried with all settings and calibration also done but I didn't get that Wow feeling.. finally i kept this at my work station and started listening from close just 2 feet distance then i came to know what Vineet trying to say.. but for room like 15x15 it is not enough.. as I already own a dedicated home theatre system I might feeling this is less.. I may be wrong but want to share here as this video is the reason for my purchase 😊 Edit July 23: after changing subwoofer placement by crawling method and turned off AI Room calibration it's superb.

For those asking whether rear speaker can work with LG SP8A. The answer is no. LG only allows soundbar with Y series which supports rear speaker. Like LG SP8YA supports rear speaker (which were being sold in overseas market) Available in chroma and reliance digital (approx 25k) Also it aupports lg soundbar app through which you can control the soundbar.

Since you seem to have some grasp on this subject and don't think Vineet is going to reply to every random comment . What is the big difference between Sp8a and sc9s.. Is sc9s only to be used with LG OLED Tvs.. I see that sc9s does not have meridian badge but they claim to support some wow orchestra mode .. my requirement is mostly for listening to music from KZbin (70% times) and sometimes watch movies

@@kshashikantt sc9s has one more speaker. If your requirement is 70% KZbin then go with sp8a and enjoy the music. It's a phenomenal experience. I have a room size of 20x15 and not able to beyond 50% of volume. I wonder how good it will perform if played at 75-80% of volume. But then I need a much bigger room.

Thank you man.... At first I was bit confused about the bass of the system... (FYI I ordered this sound bar after seeing your review. Before that I had never heard of this sound bar. Sony and JBL was my options). After started watching movies, i get to know the reason behind ur excitement. The dialogues are crisp, audio separation and depth are at par with high end audio devices. The upward firing speakers are the difference. The connectivity of WiFi can helps you to play Spotify, Amazon music etc. I won't recommend this to bass lovers... Don't get me wrong that the bass is not good. It has excellent bass which doesn't overpower the other instruments and dialogues... Always had issue with Sony sound bar due to this, especially while watching movies at night. Always had to fiddle with remote. But this is perfect.

I have used both speakers- yas 209 and LG sp8a. Sound is lovely for both. But I think LG sounds better by a slight margin. The bass is a bit too punchy for LG - not that great for music. Yamaha had a lovely warm tone. LG is more hip sounding I also miss controlling the LG soundbar directly with alexa, which I was used to do in Yamaha

Thanks, @VMone, for reviewing another soundbar. I previously had a Motorola AmphiSoundX 5.1 (not the Dolby one) soundbar, and honestly, I regret buying it. Since then, I've been searching for a good soundbar to pair with my projector. HDMI input is a must for me since my projector doesn't have ARC/eARC ports. I'm using the FireTV 4k Max. I've had a few demos: 1. JBL Bar 1000 - Good but pricey. 2. JBL 5.1 - Liked it very much, good surround sound, clear vocals, and excellent bass. 3. Samsung Q800C - Impressive atmos effects but not as impressed with the bass compared to the 5.1. 4. JBL 9.1 - Shouldn't it be better than the 5.1? But in many reviews, they prefer the 5.1 over the 9.1. I think the JBL 5.1 will be priced at Rs. 39999 on the 7th on Amazon, and we may get the JBL 9.1 for Rs. 49999 on the 7th on Flipkart. Do you recommend the LG SP8A over the JBL 5.1? (I don't mind missing Dolby Atmos because most films have limited Atmos content, maybe below 15 minutes.) The LG SP8A is a 2022 model, replaced by the SC9S, which is a 3.1.3 soundbar. I saw someone mention that it might even be better than the LG SP8A. Is there any chance you could review the SC9S before the sale? Also, can rear speakers be added to both the SP8A and SC9S? I had decided to buy the JBL 5.1 at Rs. 39999. I saw LG S95QR review by Andrew Robinson, that is top end LG soundbar as of now, with meridian tuning. He is not impressed with the soundbar, so we need to think twice before investing in LG soundbar I think. Since @VMone heard and review JBL 5.1 and LG SP8A he might have a better opinion. I almost decided to purchase Yamaha yas 209. As soon as I saw this video, I started researching again. I went to croma and reliance digital to personally listen to SP8A and also SC9S. After a weeks research, I decided to buy SP8A over SC9S because 1. It comes with meridian tuning whereas SC9S does not. I confirmed this from LG showroom. 2. SP8A has 40W front and 50W top speakers whereas SC9S has 30W and 35W. Although SC9S sounded much more beautiful and engrossing, I still wanted to trust meridian and chose to go ahead with SP8A. SP8A costs 8-9k less than SC9S. I thought that it is not worth paying extra. I purchased from Reliance digital for 22.5K after all the discounts. Once you set it to surround sound from LG soundbar app, it creates magic.

I have old LED Tv without 2.1 earc port. I am looking for new oled and will be using soundbar with it and then only i will experience the atmos guess.

Optical Cable runs 5.1 channel or 7.1 channels. For Atmos you need to connect via HDMI eARC port from your TV to Soundbar. Even if your TV has HDMI ARC use that (instead of Optical). ARC supports Atmos via a compressed format. If you are using Fire Stick 4k then the better way is connect Fire Stick to Soundbar HDMI In and then TV to other port. That way you will get Atmos.

Bought SP8A two weeks before. It has sharpened vocals may be good for watching movies but for music no so good. Out of 6 sound modes only cinema mode is useful. Before this I was using JBL sound bar which has balanceed vocal and music, I am missing it. So if anyone is more interested in music don't buy this.

I just bought the sp8a and i have to say it is good, i guess it is the meridian tuning that makes it excel in every aspect. Maybe lg made it hy mistake. Btw it is replacing my yas 209 soundbar but but in terms of vocal and clear sound Yamaha is better at same volume although the bass effects are really good with this one. Tried the sc9s but it did not sound as good as the sp8a.

Three months back I bought this Sound bar from Chroma for 24k after the card offer, you truly said I don't know why no one is talking about LG soundbars, but this the best, everything is as you mentioned and you missed few things, it has connected mobile app where you can configure the audio and AI room Calibration, which works like magic, play songs through wifi from your mobile and some more additional features. Killer sound bar for audiophiles.

I think mainly because these seem to be designed with considering oled tvs in mind.. For example my sony bravia protrudes 4 inches from the wall.. And if i were to wall mount this soundbar which is 5 inches in depth.. I think the up firing speakers will throw sound directly under my tv.. So perhaps only oled users can buy.. Otherwise you has to keep it on a table or something

Hdmi cable doesn’t come with this. Optical cable comes in box. I bought this but i feel the base is very low. Base lovers won’t like it. Get this only if you are sure you dont want rear speakers or you will regret it later. For people like me who dont want to setup rear speaker this is great. Also dont expect Dolby atmos to be some magical thing you will notice all the time. Its just another that makes the whole experience better. A good 5.1 > atmos.

Please listen to the technical part of the review and ignore his emotions. I went and checked other reviews of same product. More or less same opinion. So I have ordered since it matched my requirements. Low bass, dialogue clarity and music tuning by Meridian. I live in a flat and can’t play loud anyway. So 440 w matches my need and so I gave up my plan to buy 600w 5.1 options. I’m aware this doesn’t support rear kit as well. I decided to go for it after listening to SC9s in showroom and it was amazing.

The third upward firing speaker is seriously magical. I had commented on your other video where you compared the Bose and the Sonos bars. If you would have seen the comments you would have got this sp8a for just 25k from reliance stores as they had the ganapati bappa offers going on. However I bought the LG SC9 for 35k from the same offer. Now the SC9 has all the features of sp8a plus this soundbar is IMAx enhanced and it also supports spacial audio and many more features and it is incredibly loud, it out-matches it's 400 wats RMS.

Yes you can control bass and treble with remote and with soundbar app. Subwoofer is 6.5 inch and has 220 watt RMS.

Netflix mentioned "NOTE: TVs or soundbars that use 5.1 surround sound or Dolby Atmos will play using that technology instead of spatial audio. On some TVs or devices, you may need to change the audio output setting from 5.1 to stereo to play using spatial audio. For more information, check with your device or audio equipment manufacturer." Question is, can we change settings to stereo in this to use spatial audio? And what is actual difference between spatial audio vs dolby atmos while paying netflix? I am planning to use firestick 4k with LG 32 inch monitor using this soundbar.

It's HDMI arc connection is not working and had connection issues in my sony 55 inch tv via Bluetooth mode and HDMI arc is not at all working. Did you face any issues like I faced? I am having LG SP 8A now, and it’s exactly the same as he demonstrated. The woofer is of top most quality. I keep flaunting it to visitors. But if you are still to buy something you should go for SP9 version (the one with 3 top firing speakers against this one, of 2 top speakers). But make sure you go with Meridian audio + LG. There are soundbars without Meridian audio, avoid it.

@@mr_svy sc9s I played side by side and it doesn't have the magic of sp8a. But S95Q , u can buy I guess coz it has Meridian sound like sp8a, but is 3.5x costlier than sp8a. If 5.1 isn't ur 'must have ' then look no further than sp8a. Its as awesome as described in this video.

@@Scribbling_Pencil s75q doesn't have meridian sound. AFAIK only S95QR and SP8A have meridian sound. Its simple, if its not written Meridian on the sound bar, u don't buy it. Just follow this, u'll be fine.
