Façade is extremely impressive, especially considering the time it was made. The game not only let me set fire to the plant in the corner, but it also had Trip and Grace kick me out as a result. Its programming is borderline insane.

@@oldthinkertube I didn't click this link because I totally thought it was a virus! Thank you for sharing this information with me. With that aside, I definitely think it's time for another "experiment," such as Facade, to lay down a basic groundwork and show people that games such as this have massive potential. I think instead of having human voice actors, a TTS would open the doors to a much wider range of possibilities, as well as learning program that would take experiences from other playthroughs. This way, the AI will become more experiences and better cater to an average consumer. (You say hello to Trip enough times, he'll say hi back eventually on someone's playthrough.) My dreams aside, I think a simple remake of Facade would be just as nice. Even without the ambition of "The Party," I think improving the game to be what it was originally supposed to be would be incredible.

Funny thing about Façade, typically when someone fucks around in it they get the ending where one of them leaves - but Joel fucked around so hard this time that he got the "Everything is Fine" ending everytime. (I mean, unless you think him getting kicked out negates anything.)

facade as a game is really this weird, muted form of vaporwave, it seems. bleeding-edge for it's time, but ultimately somewhat abandoned, forgotten about and it's development stagnant; unintentionally showcasing abandoned technology as art, but that's where the similarities end. while vaporwave is this bombastic sea of blues, purples and pinks... facade's scheme is subdued; a void of stark black and grey, put in contrast with stark whites and tans. certainly fitting for the topic of facade, i suppose! i'd reckon facade might've pioneered vaporwave, or it's own aesthetic, though i have no clue what it is. it's cool though!

It sucks ass. Just a pretentious tech demo that takes itself way too seriously and lacks any kind of self awareness. A fucking boring story with unlikeable characters. It's not bleeding edge, there were text adventure games that could do way more impressive things years before Façade slumped into existence, the only difference is that it plays prerecorded voice clips instead. The visual style isn't unique either, it's just an artless rip on _Another World_ but in 3D. I can't fathom why anyone would unironically want to play this game.
