+JayJay Golden It only needs the original files due to legal issues. If they did actually make it run without it, meaning OpenRCT2 would have all the resources included, a cease and desist order by Atari would follow quickly. Although a 2002 demo version of RCT2 can be used, because it contains all of the resources. It's more of a remake because they're replacing all the original engine code with open-source code.

God the moment when Joel got frustrated about banking turns to reduce his lateral gs and management sims in general makes me really thankful for Marcel Vos and channels like him for other games I get having the layers peeled off in something like Doom maybe taking some of the magic away from it because you don't need to understand complex stuff like sr50 or even circlestrafing to have a good time with that game, but I'd say having to curve your turn to reduce your coaster's lateral gravitational pull and having to meet certain criteria or else your ride's stats get cut in half is about as obscure as sr50 except it's pretty much required knowlage to make even a half-decent coaster
