For those wondering, about 15 minutes of technical difficulties was cut at 11:38 (available on the Extra Sauce channel) and the change that fixed the framerate issue for Vinny was enabling DX9 in the launcher options. Worth mentioning just in case any of you plan on trying this mod out for yourselves

Just note that this isn't always the solution because it's dependent on the PC. For me, DX9 usually has a slight decrease in performance. People could try experimenting with the Frame Limiter hack's settings (again, settings like "Waitable Timer" and "Sleep" vary between PC's). The game usually causes issues due to the framerate not being capped, but I have no idea if that's related to what Vinny experienced.

@@ObsoIeteQuality Yeah, I haven't used this particular application, but I know the preferred rendering engine does tend to vary between hardware setups on things like emulators, so that is important to keep in mind. Mainly, I just wanted to point it out for people who aren't aware of the Extra Sauce channel and might think the framerate and loading times were magically fixed after the crash, only to run into the same issues on their end and not understand why they persist Vinny did mess with the fps limiter in the technical difficulties segment (I think he ran it uncapped for the remainder of the video), but it was crashing even before he changed anything, so he might've had something else configured improperly or it could've just been one of those outlier issues on his particular rig, especially with how streaming software can sometimes cause issues when capturing certain games. Hard to say without actually being on his computer, honestly

As cool as this mod is, it hits even harder if you’re already familiar with the game and modding scene for it. It’s pretty impressive from a mod standpoint and does a lot of quite advanced scripting stuff. The FMV cutscenes are literally 1 to 1 with the original cutscene style of the game and it uses the actual models used in the original. I think it might even use the actual animation software too. It’s insane.

The "gyatt" is a shortened version of goddamn, mostly used as a reaction to a woman's "shapely" features. "Rizzler" is one who has "rizz", which itself is literally the same thing as the early 2000s "game" or "charm". Possibly derived from chaRISma, but is much more of an internet thing than actual AAV, although also originating there. It's very rarely used earnestly, being employed to over-qualify cheesy pick-up lines in a comedic way.

Binty only play babby gaem he no raec. To be honest the game's driving takes some getting used to because there's no lateral physics and the steering's so sensitive it might as well be digital. The cars don't really have handling characteristics, just different turning radii, so your first instinct won't be to barrel through a turn at full speed like the game wants.

Rockstar were considering it, until their legal team realized that the R* stuff is trademark and copyright appropriately but the actual mechanics of "Driving around a city and taking cars to do open-ended missions" wasn't. I remember seeing it in a few ancient magazines in a few interviews back with GTA3 was considered "Top of the Line" and "New" but after that nothing really progressed. It also could've been someone making up stories to sell said mags; but with how defensive companies are of their property and IP's I really wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't discussed in a boardroom briefly before somebody mentioned they didn't copyright the concepts they utilized and didn't consider it until they realized the genre was going to be popular.

The thing about the show "allegedly" removing those scenes, even if it isn't true, still illustrated a point that I think is important. On digital/streaming, these companies can censor/edit the movies and shows at any time, and even if this particular case is not true, that DOES happen. On the physical disc (Blu Ray, 4K, whatever), it can NOT be edited/censored and is preserved as it was (plus you OWN that disc, it can NOT be taken away from you if they lose distribution rights, and you get the BEST quality)

I suppose that's the main reason why VHS tapes of the original Star Wars trilogy WITHOUT the "special edition" changes are still highly sought-after.

Keep in mind Vinny hasn't played Hit and Run before, outside of a few corruptions. The game itself has an unforgiving difficulty that Vin would bust a ball at as a newbie, and the mod expects you to have a little experience with the vanilla game. Can't chip in a valid thought for the outdated version, but this stream was probably planned and compiled weeks/months beforehand by Vinny's moderators (or Vin).

@@scrittle I'm not complaining about Vinny being inexperienced. It's the fact that he doesn't try again. He probably could have beat some of these missions on his second or third try. Not to mention Mod of Stupidity makes use of the Checkpoints hack (vanilla SHAR doesn't have checkpoints). Mission 7 especially is littered with checkpoints, including the objective Vinny failed in. The most recent version of MoS, the one with my contributions, was made last year. It was made two weeks after the version from the video Vinny watched.
