Great work on that romhack of Mega Man 2, Count Deku! Im a big fan of the classic Mega Man games, so seeing a Vinesauce edit was a real treat. I loved all the little details you put into the stages, especially for Sonic and Pepsiman stages.

It was one of the games I was testing for a Japanese Indie Collection and certain elements reminded me of Vinesauce, so I decided to challenge myself to see if I could mod it. It was sort of a quick thing I threw together vs the time spent on ROTRR/VineRooms, which were mods of Soup 0.9. HSP games are pretty fun to mod though and there's an untapped wealth of them.

My favorite weird part of this stream is that at one point vinny sounded like he called you a cunt and then had to clarify is the people who were nagging to move to the weird streams because it was sunday. The guide that was sent to Vinny is included with the game. Just to clear any misunderstanding, it's a mod of an indie game called Alto that was developed via a programming engine called Hot Soup Processor in 2013. A hurdle to altering text in these games for translation is that its tied to the exe file, which also tends to be encrypted. So providing a guide is the only alternative at the moment. Both ROTRR/Vinerooms were also HSP games, but all the text/options were image files.

Of the NES Mega Man games, it's basically a toss-up between 4, 5 and 6 in terms of which is the best when you put nostalgia aside. 6 has the most innovative level design, with the secret paths and such, but 5 is the most difficult, and therefore has the most replay value for myself personally. 5 also has my favorite set of abilities, so I'm most inclined to say 5 is my personal favorite.

To be fair a lot of the "problems" that Vinny is addressing on Megaman 2 can be unvalidated by how bad he is at the game, I mean I'm not that great at playing videogames, but even I can beat Megaman 2 in one sitting.

3 and 4 are the best Classic Megamans, followed by 9. 2 is quite sloppy, but still a vast improvement over 1 (which was already a _good_ game, just not a _great_ game). The slide was very important to making Mega Man levels stand out, and 9 and 10 are basically the only Mega Man games in the classic sub-section of the franchise that were really well-designed to work without his slide. The X series is at its best in 1, 2, and 4 and at its absolute worst in 6 (with 5 and 7 being dishonorable mentions).
