@@bongchoof Nah, technology is what killed 2D Zelda. Like Minish Cap was a 2D top down because that's what the GBA could handle. Now even handhelds today can somewhat compare to home consoles. Every once in a blue moon we might see something like A Link Between Worlds, Triforce Heroes, or the Link's Awakening remake, but at the end of the day the tech has evolved enough that there's no technical limitations stopping a game from being 3D and there's only so much you can do with 2D in an adventure game.

I believe the Twitch drinking rule Vinny's thinking of goes somewhere along the lines of, you can't get SO drunk on stream that you pass out, vomit, start acting irate/violent or otherwise irresponsibly etc. I don't think there's much of a rule beyond that. I watch a Japanese streamer who fairly regularly gets plastered on stream, but he's what you might call a "lucid drunk" so he manages to keep himself together, at least to Twitch's liking.

2:11:09 I think it depends a lot on how you're judging difficulty. Ninja Gaiden was hard, but the true difficulty was extremely backloaded where it didn't take too much practice to be able to reach the last level, but then actually beating the last level was an enormous hurdle. Battletoads had a similar thing in that the primary gameplay wasn't so hard, but the bike levels were CBT. Also sucked because there was no way to turn off friendly fire in 2-player mode, so it was actually harder to beat if you wanted to play with a friend or sibling. As for Castlevania 3, that's one that the AVGN has also claimed is ball-blisteringly hard and I just don't see it. I'm not some super specialized speed runner - I played a lot of other games besides it - but I could win it on hard mode by the time I was a teenager.

The chicken transformation reminds me so much of Guacamelee 1 and 2. They were a fun metroidvanias mixed with beat-em up combat mechanics. I am surprised Vinny never played either, those games look like something he'll enjoy

All jokes about the content of this stream aside, the remixed music is generally pretty impressive. I knew that NES music could be taken to new heights with add-ons and enhancement chips, but seeing it applied to a game like this really shows what it can do.

@@LuigiXHero Just for clarification, the remixes here were made specifically with the actual VRC6 soundchip limitations (in Famitracker) -- a chip that was only used in Japan on their version of the nes for like 3 games. It includes the default NES 2A03 soundchip that we got, plus 3 extra channels (2 pulse waves + 1 saw wave) hence why it sounds so much fuller.

The thing I like about sweet potatoes is that (if you are doing them in a sweet style) they go very well with cinnamon, and I LOVE cinnamon, so naturally that kind of thing appeals to me. Although my personal favorite part of the Thanksgiving meal is green bean casserole, because I really like the crunchies on top lol, and it's also nice to be able to have fiddleheads (it's a northern Maine thing, which is where my parents are from. You can only findthem up north, not where we live, so my grandmother freezes some and sends them to us, and we save them for Thanksgiving)

I'm not gonna lie, I've been watching you do this for 9 years now and I literally did not know you did this for thanksgiving. Even though I've seen you play this game at least 9 times.
