This freaked me out but never made me stop playing it, but I feel. When before me and my brother got to the Mimi fight, I actually rented Metroid Prime 3 from Blockbuster. After the "Terminal Corruption" death, I decided I wanted to return the game just to find out that the cashier was like "you can keep that game cause we're closing down." I never finished the game until 2016. Ironically also didn't finish Super Paper Mario until 2016 because disc was scratched.

I feel that the dread of the multiverse ending by the hands of a person losing all love paralleling with the wacky Mario characters makes it great IMO -- shows you don't necessarily need "edge" to have a great story.
