The first game (Tunguska Meteor) is an unreleased demo from 2004, which explains its brokenness. It was developed by just two people, who made it in four months. They have another FPS, which actually was released, called «Крысолов» (Rat Catcher), and it's even worse.

@GameDevYal Жыл бұрын
I feel like the reason Cruelty Squad became such a big hit despite being Sunday Stream material is because it's actually a good game under the weird exterior, there's a lot of depth and customization once you get used to the mechanics (and since the game's so friggin' hard, you'll need to use a lot of it to gain an advantage). And it's not really "lore" in the FNAF sense, a lot of the worldbuilding is directly commenting on the current state of the world (the Gamestop stonks hike is an actual event that's referred in the game, the cryptobros wanting to build their own lawless island nation is a mission halfway through the game, and a lot of the office workers' dialogue is immensely relatable if you've ever worked at an office)

The problem with big scary nuclear waste warning signs is that in a way they can make it more likely that people may look for the waste by marking the site and making them stand out more and be more intriguing, especially if future people can no longer understand the language of the signs. Thats why I wonder if its just better to leave the sites completely unmarked, as maybe the chance of someone randomly stumbling on the waste is lower than if you build menacing structures and signs that could lead adventurers or explorers in
@bugjams Жыл бұрын
Better to mark it than to leave it unmarked. Either way, there's gonna be stupid people wandering in. At least by marking it, you'll likely deter most normal people and only attract urban explorers/punks, who will soon enough die and everyone will learn what the signs mean. There's no way to prevent 100% of future casualties, people are just too stupid, but the markings and structures at least reduce it somewhat.
@NatetheNerdy Жыл бұрын
That's my thought. Most of the plans make it a really unique landscape, and that tends to attract people.

nuclear waste is actually just uranium pellets it can be recycled at like, 98% efficiency to be used as fuel again, but thats illegal in a bunch of places for next to no reason nuclear waste has basically 0 actual danger to it, its just expensive to store because it takes up a lot of space permanently, so governments dont want to pay for it nuclear waste is not an environmental or scientific issue, its a policy issue we have solutions, but we're not using them
@aras10249 ай бұрын
Nuclear waste comes in many varietes, and there is something called low level nuclear waste. Some stuff is just contaminated tools/clothing etc and that cannot be recycled, and poses big threat in itself - if that goes back into current or future people houses as recycled pipes/bars or someone burns it, or it leaks into soil, it could pose deadly threat to humanity, especially in case we encounter a population bottlenec such as global catalysm. As for uranium - what you said is true but that is not the only kind of nuclear waste. I encourage you to look up Goyana incident or Lua incident - where hot nuclear material caused huge issues by people unknowingly handling items which classify as nuclear waste which was not uranium.

the whole discussion during "This is not a Place of Honor" was really fascinating! I knew a little about nuclear waste disposal sites before, but seeing those concept art pieces makes this whole topic even more interesting. Granted, if a couple hundred or thousand years from now people, who might not understand the purpose of those structures or can't read the signs, find those areas they might be more likely to actually go and check them out. I've seen a documentary a while back where it showed one way of structuring such a disposal site, and I think, once it was fully filled up, they would just build it back completely above ground that it's not noticeable anymore and won't be used as a potential target, too. (Also really happy to hear that Vin liked Oppenheimer and that it made him think. I've seen it twice, and the amount of people going in it for the memes just makes me mad tbh, not a single brain cell has been used by at least half the room to comprehend what we just watched :/)

However spent Plutonium, Uranium tailings, thorium tailings and the like when concentrated is still be radioactive enough to cause harm, it can even produce toxic gasses. The design wasn't designed for today's people, but rather in 5-7 thousand years time. Humanity could suffer a nuclear war, a meteor impact, another Carrington Event or some other catastrophe. If that were the case the people who discover such a site may think it's like a tomb or was to store valuables, dig up and be exposed to the materials.
