That hospital map reminded me of a weird rabbit hole I fell down a few years ago. There's an entire genre of urban exploration youtube channels, and some are really cool. Some just want to document the places they explore and map them. But others make shitty ghost hunter videos. Like, there was this one dude who always went into these places alone, but someone was obviously in there with him. They'd set up mannequins in creepy positions, push things over, crawl away on the ground in the distance as he rounded the corner. One of the best was when he was in some sewer and they, I shit you not, used an dancing alien gif in the distance. Dude was all "what the fuck?" in a hushed tone, like he really was seeing some pixelated alien doing a fortnite dance in the shit steam fog.

Seeing that Halloween map with the coins is so jarring. That is absolutely not that person’s first map, because they have multiple of them in Sven Co-op, too. When I first saw the stars I thought, “it looked cooler in Sven, lol.” Then I saw the coin counter, and I instantly understood why it felt like a GoldSrc map and looked familiar… It even appears to have the train system 😭…

Unpopular opinion but I think people who write off horror reactions with "It's fake" ruin horror Horror is a genre that requires you to get into it. Yes it's obviously fake but that's not the point. If you aren't willing to get into it then ultimately no horror will ever be scary to you and the same goes with watching people react to it. People who say it isn't scary because it's fake are as bad as people who say WWE sucks because it's fake. Like no way I didn't know that.
