I think Iron Lung was pretty decent, until the ending. A better ending would have been hearing something grab your sub and pull you further down into an abyss, as it does you hear the whole sub creaking and warping as it's building pressure, seeing the metal around you slowly dent and crumple like a tin can, the pipes begin to burst and all you can do is watch the walls closing in. Then the credits roll.

This reminds me a lot of the B.C. Piezophille demo. It's a lot like this (semi-guided underwater exploration) but with super weird worldbuilding, an even more awkward to control mech and double the confusion. Killer vibes though, that same kinda rusty crusty crap.

@@MrCowabungaa Yeah; It's a game heavily inspired by the immersive sim genre, so it makes use of really complex simulations for a lot of things. Part of the reason the dev chose to create complex ecosystem simulations is to one, create the feeling of a living world, and two, to create unique and dynamic emergent gameplay. The demo has those elements limited but they'll be apparently pretty big in the final game.

The atmosphere and color direction alone makes this game top notch. I think the game stretches itself a bit thin early on with the complexity of the ship, and that might lose some people. Also the game seems like it can get too dark sometimes, such as exploring the sunken sub and you can't tell when you're on the bottom. That could just be KZbin compression though, I haven't played it myself. Hopefully this full game comes out soon

Foul, on the developer, mixing retro filters, five yards, repeat alpha release. I realize this is happening because nobody remembers what these filters are. It's just hip to slather them on. But the sub guy is supposed to be a camcorder. But the pause screen will use a film filter. Television effects go horozontal because of scan lines. Film filters are vertical becsuse it was physical film winding through the projector top to bottom. It's like if someone posted a video of a Tesla Cybertruck and photoshopped in a gas exhaust because it "looks cool".

@@PlasmaOne It does have different goals; Reach a certain location, then refuel when needed. Along the way, you may find threats. That's the main premise at this time. Reach various points and refuel, repair and eat when needed. The final game likely has higher ambitions, given the immersive sim inspirations.
