After all, I can understand the predicament of this game's development and the likely outcome if it had stayed on the N64. The transition to the Gamecube and franchise was probably made by Rare Higher-ups to keep the company afloat, but as time would have it Nintendo forgot to update the brand agreement. Overall this game was the victim of time and place leading to a rushed final release; only if we had gotten the SFA beta. @@ShenDoodles Jerma's fanbase is _riiiight_ on the verge of turning toxic, imo. They're already taking heat for overusing the "when the imposter is sus" meme, but if you watch his streams...idk, they give me this weird, unnecessarily antagonistic feeling. Poking fun at Jerma has always been part of the fun, but lately, they've been taking that role way too seriously, and sometimes they overstep in a way that ruins the humor. For instance, watch the 2ndJerma House Flipper highlight video that introduces the _GAS_ joke. (It's the title of the video, you can't miss it.) Two-thirds of the way through, Jerma takes up a challenge from chat to play Deal Or No Deal and have his winnings taken off The Debt (which is a whole nother YT comment essay worth of weirdness sometimes). Jerma wins a decent amount on the first round, then goes "double-or-nothing" on a second play and completely invalidates it, and that's really funny. He has a _thing_ with gambling, he knows it, chat knows it, but this was a web version of the game with no real risk or investment, so in the end it's all in good fun. Then afterward, someone tells him something along the lines of "post 'I have a big dumpy' on Twitter to nullify the Deal Or No Deal losses, or the debt is doubled!" You can tell that even Jerma is kinda weirded out by this one; after reading it out loud, he quickly and quietly says that he's not opening Twitter just to embarrass himself, and moves on. Think about it. Where the hell did this come from? The Debt doesn't even work like that. You can't just declare that he'll be penalized for not doing something he didn't agree to beforehand. Where's the fun in that? Everyone was having a good time, and then this dude came in and pushed it a little too far and spoiled the moment. I guess what I'm saying is, Jerma's adversarial relationship with his chat is a double-edged sword. On one hand, Jerma _is_ often hyperbolic, and he tends to make snap decisions that could bite him in the ass later on, and Chat getting to call him out and make him do what he promised to do usually makes for a pretty good straight-man-funny-man routine. On the other hand, sometimes Chat takes that role too seriously, and there's a fine line with that kind of comedic relationship where you have to avoid going too far, because then it's less "haha we made the monkey dance by dancing along" and more "dance or you get the shock prod." And this is just one particular problem they have; I'm not going into them overusing the "sus" meme or telling other streamers who aren't in on the joke to "sing the raid/subscribe/new-viewer song." Okay thank you for reading my Jerma essay. I'm the giant rat, coffee cheetos chicken, AA EE OO, etc. Please have a nice day.

What if there was a nintendo game called spaceworld with a museum of nintendo games from spaceworld
@TeruteruBozusama3 жыл бұрын
That'd be awesome... Spaceworld was also a Norwegian game store, they were really awesome in the early 2000s. But as online shopping became popular, they said that too many would buy online and... Gave up... So they started focusing only on phones, sound systems, and a handful of the newest PS4 and xbone games before going bankrupt... They more or less killed themselves... In Oslo they had a huge store! A retro floor, previous gen floor, 2 floors with current, and an import floor. I miss it...

Honestly? I kinda like n64 krystal's design wayyyy better. It's simple and cute. not cute in the way that people have come to think about krystal, but like... cute in that it'd make a good plush toy, or that she'd be fun to draw. I think starfox's design sensibilities were unbecoming of her (literally i guess) Like, she looks a lil wonky, but its an n64 rare game. she's a silly lil animal character

It's crazy just how HUGE some of those beta Zelda 64 maps are. You can really see the DNA for the ideas that would later become Breath of the Wild, they always had "big open world" ambitions I wonder if that's even what led to Zelda design stagnating a bit after OoT - trying to develop that game maybe led the team to conclude such an idea was impossible on current tech, and then they hesitated to go for it in later games
@laziestoldman3 жыл бұрын
Its crazy that they even had the idea for taming wild horses even then. And you might be right, they teased a huge world again with Twilight Princess and it didn't fully work out even then.
@TeruteruBozusama3 жыл бұрын
The first Zelda game is as open world as they could make back then..!
@smcb99793 жыл бұрын
@@laziestoldman yeah, it does kind of go in a cycle - OoT and TP both took stabs at proper open-world but had to trim that ambition, and then were followed up by MM and SS, which have more tightly designed worlds and more linear expectations. and then in the middle there's Wind Waker, which uses the ocean as a design mechanic to allow true openness at the cost of interesting world design and fun traversal this is a bit of an aside, but seeing this stuff has me even more stoked for BOTW2 and beyond now - if BOTW was the culmination of game-design ambitions the Zelda team had been nursing for TWENTY YEARS, I have a gut feeling that they're gonna get even wilder with the lore and ideas now that they've finally figured out how to make what they've always really wanted to do!
