Sure those 3 were intended to be mascots but not every game here is... it is a mixed bag which is why a change of name makes sense. This title is more or less the equivalent of a screw you... and people don't like it because it is a poor choice.

Fun fact: Wild Woody's soundtrack was composed by Ron Blumenthal, a.k.a. Bumblefoot- he's well known for being one of the lead guitarists for Guns n' Roses for years. I recommend listening to the rest of the soundtrack. It can get pretty wild, pun entirely intended. The second pirate stage track is my personal favorite.

The game has a lot of fans, to point where the Switch port reached over 100k on Kickstarter and is likely also coming to PS4, and he seemed to enjoy what little he played. The game definitely has problems, specifically how empty the level design can be in a few levels, but Yooka-Laylee also has that problem (to a greater extent in my opinion) and Vinny actually liked Yooka-Laylee, so I think there's a decent chance he'd like Ty. I'm not saying he absolutely has to stream the game, I just think it would be cool to see.

tbh, I never had the game, but remember seeing other kids play it, and it has always given me this weird, almost eerie vibe, like something about the level design feels almost kind of liminal, and the music often feels serene but also a tiny bit sinister (or maybe more melancholic? It's hard to describe) to me. Like it's really hard to put my finger on why, but something about Glover has always given me the same feeling as a half-remembered fever dream, not quite a nightmare, but not a perfectly pleasant dream, either.

The "uncensored porn" in Wild Woody can only be acquired with debug mode. Woody has the ability to sketch things, including a robertous mermaid. Normally, she has clothes on (however robertized and insufficient they may be.) Using debug mode, Woody can free move / noclip through a certain level (Treasure Caves) to collect certain items in an order that is impossible in normal gameplay. The last item is the mermaid sketch. After collecting them and using this sketch, that particular mermaid is bereft of adornment but not of roberty.

Oh my god, Gex was my shit as a kid. I loved him so much, I had both Enter The Gecko and Deep Cover Gecko on the N64. I was really young at the time, maybe like five or six? Okay, maybe it's harsh for me to say that, because they are very different games despite sharing similarities. I just prefer Ty2 more because its level design is much more exploratory. You don't go back and forth through the same stretches of its overworld as often, and as simple as it is I feel the controls and approach to enemy encounters and design are married better. I just don't really care for Jak 2's combat, and avoiding traffic and soldiers on the way to and from missions got old really fast.

Man Wild Woody is actually really good just because of that music. Bumblefoot (played for GnR one time I think?) did the music for it, and it's just all over the place from Pirate rap to industrial metal, and he's putting all his talent in it for this dumb pencil game. It just might as well be Bumblefoot's EP for the Sega CD.
