This is simultaneously the most frustrating and most impressive thing I've watched. Say all you want, but he did just beat an entire act with over 90% bones, and it's not an easy act either. It's like unintenionally beating a pokemon game with a monotype team and not knowing the type chart at all, and the monotype is Bug.

Honestly, the starter bone deck is solid. I suck at deck building so I barely changed mine throughout the entire act and it did fine, with the angler fight being the only one that really forced me to rethink a card or two. If he had made the beginner skelly deck it would have been fine.

Eh, could've been worse, try playing Library of Ruina (Cool fuckin' game btw) and making sure your brain doesn't explode from the new mechanics introduced over the course of the game. Be prepared for long fights too, granted there some stuff that the game doesn't cover so gotta learn that yourself or from word of mouth. That aside Inscryption is really fuckin' neat and would like to see more from the developer.

To be fair, the way the game presents its four types of decks makes it very easy to assume that it's like themed decks in other card games, where you would ideally want to use lots of cards with the same theme for the best synergies. But, in this case, that's still somewhat true, but the fact that each "theme" has different kinds of costs means that mixing and matching between decks could be more powerful sometimes. I can definitely see why it can be kind of unintuitive at first

Its really about cross synergy for the most part, the only deck that doesnt synergize with any other is the mage one honestly. which is also why the mage boss' mechanic literally makes any non mage deck a pain to play against him, all the shit he gives you in place of the sigils has no synergy

You play with beast and bone cards in the first act, and you're deliberately limited to mostly beast and bone cards again in act 2 before beating a boss. The game is clearly expecting you to cross synergize, since you've already played through a version of the game where you would be using beast cards to gain bones to summon bone cards and using bone cards as sacrifices to summon beast cards.

@@sirrealism7300 i didnt try the mage deck too much, i was just talking about what the mage scrybe does to other cards while your playing against him. the sigils he gives them (the "color" he adds) dont synergize when he repaints cards. the mage deck also still is the only one that doesnt synergize super well with the rest of the game due to how mox work. Ik its still a viable build but it definitely hard to fit em into sacrifices or bones too much (energy synergizes with everything since it works like hearthstone)

While bones and energy will naturally build up over time so you have no reason not to use those cards, mage cards are a very good spine for your deck, especially if you get the better cards. setting up mox gives you something to do while you wait for your bones and energy to pile up, or while you wait to get the most value out of your cards before you sacrifice them for beast cards.

From a gameplay perspective there’s no reason to assume skeletons are unable to be sacrificed, especially considering how mox cards do tell you they can’t be sacrificed. If the skeleton couldn’t be sacrificed, wouldn’t it have that in its description as well? I have nothing against vinny not understanding how the game works, but skeletons being able to be sacrificed makes perfect sense; vinny is one of the few people who never figured this out.

@@shybandit521 If you pick the beast deck, leshy tells you something like "if it bleeds blood, marrow, or oil, it works." So bones do bleed for the purposes of playing cards.

at least spending an hour on one fight adds to the length of the game as a whole. at first I was like "why he plae so fast, need think more or he lose over and over" but kind of enjoying watching Vinny slowly start to get the hang of strategizing and not just playing whatever card whenever.

i know this stream was months ago and everyone's had their say about vinny pretending game mechanics don't exist, so i'll just point out that in the wizard tower, he literally walked into a super secret easter egg and got stuck in it for a while before examining the blindingly obvious pillar in the middle of the room.

I don't expect everyone to be great at every game but it's really painful watching vin ignore/forget all the game's mechanics and fail to pick up on any of the story plotpoints in favor of blindly placing cards until he gets the RNG to pass.

I am glad Vinny is enjoying this game! His streams introduced me to it, is why I purchased it, and I enjoyed the whole thing through. That being said, watching this particular recording was a test of my sanity.

Okay, since Vinny seems borderline incapable of figuring things out, allow me to explain: P03 was the Stoat, which is why he appeared more square every time he died. Grimora was the Stinkbug, and Magnificus was the Stunted Wolf, and that magical eye you got as a replacement was also his, hence why the Stunted Wolf had that scar. Also, that talking jar of green goo was his apprentice.

Hey chat, when you think Vinny is bad at games or rather, when he is... Just remember two things. One, Somehow with harder games he is able to beat bosses and levels in one try, and alot of the time clip or find a bug in the game no matter what. The second thing is... Even as bad as he can be and his vine blind ability, also to be his own worst enemy in video games.. He's still a better and more of an actual modern gamer than James Rolf or Adam from AdumPlaze.
