Maybe an odd question, but are SUV's popular as city-cars where you're from? Where I'm from it's usually people who commute longer distances, or live in rural areas, who have SUV's. So it surprised me a bit when you described it as a perfect car for quick city trips. They have more clearance when there's a lot of snow etc. In cities they are less popular since they take up so much space. Not criticizing you in the slightest, just got me curious!

1) It's smaller than a subcompact hatch, and 2) Southeast Asian roads are full of potholes and prone to flooding, so high ground clearance is a must 3) It's not a full SUV, it's a subcompact crossover

coz most people here in philippines want to show off by buying a bigger car than what they need, instead of buying something practical like a honda jazz/fit. so they end up getting a 4x2 truck-based "SUV" that can't go offroad and will never do any towing coz these people don't have any dirt bikes to tow i.e. these "SUVs" end up as mall crawlers, they spew nasty diesel fumes inside these enclosed mall parking buildings. philippine spec diesels aren't required to have DPF diesel particulate filters.

Do the reliability issues of Vinfast in the US also apply to their local releases here? Or should we not look at those as the US market is simply more "sophisticated and more picky" than our local market? This is a legit question, not rhetorical nor sarcastic. Kasi I've read articles stating that a certain Vinfast vehicle was allegedly the worst car to buy in their side of the world. I've also seen videos (from Donut specifically) wherein that certain Vinfast vehicle was uninspiring and unbelievably unreliable, to the extent of even being annoying to use. Though possible na problematic lang talaga yung releases ng Vinfast dun sa kanila, which then further begs an answer to my first question.
