For the curious, WLTP ratings tend to be 11% higher than EPA ratings and 20% higher than reality. 360 miles WLTP ~ (324 EPA, 288 real world max, 230 usable if you charge to 90% when it drops to 10% SOC). I've seen other sources state 369 miles WLTP which would be 332, 295, and 236 usable. Less than half the range of an ICE in winter.

Your last sentence, however, wasn’t on that topic, and was loaded (but also not factual). That’s what drew my response. You were doing so well, but then chose to troll.
@Noah_E2 жыл бұрын
@@afcgeo882 It was entirely factual. The average ICE has a real world usable winter range of 413 miles. For an EV to match that it would need a perfect weather range of at least 486 with a heat pump, even more without one. 236 is less than half of that. I am taking an almost 400 mile trip in mid 40s F weather for Thanksgiving. No EV can do that trip without at least one stop to recharge, but an ICE can do it with ease. That matters.
@afcgeo8822 жыл бұрын
@@Noah_E Where did you get 413 miles from? Also, if that’s the average, then quite a lot of cars get far less than that. I know of a few that get under 300 miles. It all has to do with the size of the gas tank. There are also no factual measurements by season. You’ve literally made that up. I also know of Diesel pick-ups that get 600 miles solely because they have 30 gallon tanks. Who cares? You’re trolling, and you know it.

I was so excited about this car, even at the prices I had heard about before (38k for VF8 and 56k for VF9 -- w/leased battery). I'm glad they also introduced a 'buy-with-a-battery' option, but 20k for the SMALL battery in the VF9? so 77k for a brand new car from a Vietnamese automaker? Sorry, that is definitely too much. I can see if you're a Honda or Toyota you might be able to get away with that pricing, but Vinfast? I don't care how big they are in Vietnam...over here, they're just another Tesla/Rivian/Lucid wannabe. I'll be passing on this vehicle until they come to their senses on pricing.
@tren1332 жыл бұрын
Pricing is ridiculous especially for the VF9. STARTING at 76k when you buy the battery? And that's for the small battery version with a steel roof? Volvo says their very fancy EX90 is going to be "well equipped" and cost 80k when it launches. You'd be crazy to pay the same money for this Vinfast when you could get the EX90. Also the Kia EV9 is gonna launch before either of these cars and probably start at 55k to 60k.
