Beautiful, at a time I was at my lowest I watched Vingland Saga. I was extremely down and depressed due to my life goals being crushed, but then at the end of the prologue of season 1, Askeladd said to Thorfinn "Go beyond the worlds Thors went, don't stay stuck in this boring place". I fought hard to be where I am now, I still listen to the ost's frequently it gives me peace of mind to remember where I started and where I am now... EDIT (May 5th 23): I'm glad to see a lot of people resonate with what I said, I still visit here often, the piano tends to help relax my thoughts when it's most chaotic. I completely forget I even left such a comment here. I don't usually mention my depression or feelings to anyone so it's strange to read this back. I want everyone to know that no matter what feelings and emotions you have, you must keep on going even when you can't. The second you let it takeover you, you'll be suffering a great deal. I hope yall enjoying the masterpiece of Vinland Saga especially with being blessed w/ 2nd season right now.

Vinland Saga started it as a Viking epic and it has ended up being an amazing work about human self-improvement. I think I can firmly confirm now that I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel that Vinland Saga has saved my life. I will be forever grateful to Yukimura for this incredible story. That is the main thing that has been running on my mind ever since i finished this show. i have never encountered a historical anime that nailed its setting so well, it feels like i am in those days. And that is because vinland really focused on the small details of the society, culture, and locations of back in those days. We see it with the importance of raising cattle, how they built boats, the way slavery was just another normal thing, the brutal way vikings lived and the relevance of christianity. All those factors and some more gave in return the most well made historical manga ever and one of the best manga period.

Extremely late to this show but it has been so long since I've watched an anime that sucked me in like this one has. What a fool I was thinking this was just gonna be a edgy show about Vikings and revenge. I knew when I heard the line "a true warrior doesn't need a sword" that I was in for something much more. The music was just so beautiful and made everything so much more epic or tragic as the story needed it. I hope we get a season 2 sooner rather than later!
@Feniksds7 ай бұрын
about that one line its even better. When Thorfinn learns to fight etc he fights and defeats so many people yet always loses to an Ashen Lad. Its not because Askeladd is strong but i think the meaning behind it is that Thorfinns loses the moment he keeps trying to kill him. He can't let it go. He can't let go of the hurt of losing his father nor of his revenge. He already was a slave at the moment he decided to keep following Askeladd. I know a saying from another master piece a video game called Zelda twilight princess and in said they game they say: "A sword yields no strength unless the hand that holds it has courage. I think this is the same that Thors is referring to. Courage isn't only being brave it goes deeper, its the courage to face the ordeals of the past. To leave behind what must be left behind. To set aside the quarrels of life and focus on what is worth it. To fight the battles worth it to fight. To build a home, to have a stable community, to help people. To fight that what is truly evil, by being the net good that some many people need or deserve in their life.

Good music just completely transforms a scene that would've already been incredibly memorable to something that is actually life changing. The emotions this anime made me feel were so intense that it literally made me reconsider the way I had been living my life. It was my first step on letting go of all the hate and spite I had inside me, and I can't believe that I ever related SO EFFIN MUCH to a person that doesn't even exist, set in a different time, different beliefs, but nonetheless so immensely human... This show is a piece of art and it appalls me that not more people have experienced it. I took longer than I should've to watch it, and I can only say: "stop wasting your time thinking about it, I guarantee you will not regret it".

It's the first time I ever comment under a video or anything else, I don't even know why it feels so important to me to say what I want to right now. It's an impulsive thought, so it might me irrational, but the fact that there are now ads on this video makes me feel sad. I know how it works, I truly understand it, it just makes me sad. I'm certainly the person who has watched and listened to this video the most times, almost every day, because I love the anime and this sequence from the soundtrack is just wonderful. The atmosphere is magic, it has always been a moment of break and intrusive peace for me. Still, I know how it works and I'm not that pure to say that I wouldn't do the same thing, I guess it's great to monetize a video which makes a good amount of views every month, not here to judge, seriously. I just wanted to say that that moment of magic lost something of it because of the ads noise interrupting a music that was so profound, and it makes me feel sad, it ruins the thing in some way. I'm obviously still glad for the existence of this collection and the effort of putting it together, thanks to the creator for that, I just wanted to complain like a stupid, spoiled viewer who only cares about his own enjoyment. And of course I understand that there is a ton of plot, and all, I was just bringing the story down to it's most basic form to make my point. Ultimately, you have to understand that an anime is a cartoon, and the story is about vikings, and it tells the story of Þörfin's life and his struggles.

Anyone else pick up the manga after watching season 1 and listen to this in the background while reading it? 🔥

Sadly the manga quality really goes down after the farmland arc when they turn Throfinn into a pacifist 😢

@@acollins929 im reading the Baltic sea War right now and to me its just as good, I've stayed super entertained throughout. I love thorfinns character progression and imo the setting still has enough violence and action to keep the sense of danger real

I just had a big argument with my mom and brother, she kicked me out of the car when to begin with it was my brothers fault. I feel sorry for reacting back to what my brother did and getting frustrated at my mom for not understanding. Now I’m just sitting on these old steps surrounded by the chirps of birds and the winds brushing against trees, listening to this melody while staring into the distance not knowing what I should do now. But what I do now know is I feel calm. As if a storm is going to pass.

I'm going on a voyage, deep within my soul the raging winds and high sea's.. will I ever get past it? I just want a shore of peace and seashell I can press my ear to my fisherman boat, my oar... it's not much against the storms in these times God, help my sails.
