@Padre6192 жыл бұрын
I grew up in 2010s San Diego and I’m hella glad I grew up in the Obama admin as a young teen when everything was chill, and as a white kid that just started getting into G rap I’m learning the history of ghetto life and what they had to go through, I didn’t realize people would beat on each other originally but then they probably got their hands on crack and used that as funding for guns and cars and the violence got worse, the neighborhood self destruction got worse and so did the police brutality to the point where some crips and bloods made peace, which I had no idea happened and is probably why LA isn’t a war zone today, the history is very interesting and it makes me understand why these guys need to do what they do a bit more, but still as someone born after 9/11 it’s like stepping in a relatively familiar but still completely different world, I would’ve loved to live in Cali during the 90s but it was probably crazy as fuck To me these videos are history, and it’s like when I found ground footage of the twin towers, I was shocked people actually documented this stuff but I wish there were recordings from gang members instead of tv broadcasts from news stations for a more raw look at gang life, these videos just like the new music I’m listening to give me new perspectives on how people had to live and get around back then, life was tough and now everyone takes shit for granted
