@Padre619
@Padre619 2 жыл бұрын
I grew up in 2010s San Diego and I’m hella glad I grew up in the Obama admin as a young teen when everything was chill, and as a white kid that just started getting into G rap I’m learning the history of ghetto life and what they had to go through, I didn’t realize people would beat on each other originally but then they probably got their hands on crack and used that as funding for guns and cars and the violence got worse, the neighborhood self destruction got worse and so did the police brutality to the point where some crips and bloods made peace, which I had no idea happened and is probably why LA isn’t a war zone today, the history is very interesting and it makes me understand why these guys need to do what they do a bit more, but still as someone born after 9/11 it’s like stepping in a relatively familiar but still completely different world, I would’ve loved to live in Cali during the 90s but it was probably crazy as fuck To me these videos are history, and it’s like when I found ground footage of the twin towers, I was shocked people actually documented this stuff but I wish there were recordings from gang members instead of tv broadcasts from news stations for a more raw look at gang life, these videos just like the new music I’m listening to give me new perspectives on how people had to live and get around back then, life was tough and now everyone takes shit for granted

thats because they should have showed what it actually does to you and we were def a different generation back then. D.A.R.E. was a massive failure.. they came to our school and had the cool cars and trucks bu thats about it. most of the kids are scared to death now to make a mistake wont drink wont drive and scared to get their licenses to drive. that was our freedom in the 90s! different times. these smoking commercials work because show the after affects. not just the drugs themselves

@@mannybroi5142 I had a good friend that was from the bay who moved to my neighborhood on the westside of south L.A. in the late 70s. He arrived when the gangbanging was really going to the next level. We lived in a blood neighborhood ( lnglewood) that sat between 2 of the most active and violent sets in L.A. (8 TRAY & ROLLING 60S). so we had to be always ready for whatever. My friend schooled me on the bay. It was from him that i learned about Potrero Hill , Hunterspoint , Bay View , Lake view, Third Street and the 'hood culture of the "415". Your information is correct and your details exact.

One reason is because the real Freeway Ricky Ross had the CIA connect and was flooding L.A. with dope. So L.A. niggas who was getting for the low started to go to other cities where they could sale it for the high.
