For years, Detroit has been considered one of the most dangerous cities in the USA - and especially infamous is Seven Mile Road. This area is so tough that even the police only dare tread during the day. Ruled by the Seven Mile Bloods. One of the most notorious gangs in the city. Drug dealers, hustlers, killers, and thieves - prepared to do whatever it takes to defend their territory. For over ten years gang leader Money controls the drug trade with an iron fist. A bloody territorial war keeps the gang in turmoil. To keep their rivals in check, boss Money needs a steady flow of new weapons. Only with the requisite firepower can they continue to dominate their territory and the other gangs - because the touch-paper might light at any moment. The violent crime rate in Detroit is five times higher than in the rest of the country. In 2018, over thirteen thousand crimes were reported, many more occurred. Seven Mile in particular is the front line for the bloody territorial battles that brutally define this no-go zone. For the police, every assignment is a risk, which is why bounty hunters are often used to go after criminals. A special unit of bounty hunters prepares for their next assignment on the outskirts of downtown. Tommy Depung leads the unit. So far, he’s arrested over 2500 criminals. Together with his team, they´re following a hot tip about a wanted drug and weapons dealer, and it’s taking them straight into the no-go zone… kzbin.info/www/bejne/jIOao2yYd7eJn5I More No-Go Zones - World’s Toughest Places - South Africa: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXKWqqehm6itqq8 Available Worldwide except Germany, Spain, and Norway #freedocumentary

As a person who was born and raised in Detroit. It is dangerous but I walked these streets many years. I was a homeless drug addict and stayed in abandoned houses all up and down 7 mile. Never thought I would see a documentary on this! Crazy but true. Born and raised in Detroit, off 7 Mile right down the street from Osborn High. Tough area is an understatement. The hood breeds 2 types of people: those who never want to leave and those who can’t be stopped from leaving. Left at 19 for a better life and never looked back. It’s my city and will always be my hometown but you can’t pay me to visit some of my childhood locations.

I could not agree with the two types comment more. I was born and raised and got out of there at 19. I’m glad for the upbringing because it made me who I am. It was pretty shocking to come across this video. I lived two houses off 7 Mile Rd from 1969-1985 and my childhood was riding bikes, playing outside until the street lights came on, getting Bomb Pops from the ice cream man. Michael, I put my family through hell while i was not sober, but know that I am sober, my family has it much, much better--even on bad days. Just being sober is worth so much to my family, even if I feel terrible, or have a quiet negative attitude or thoughts. During those times, I have to remember what a blessing it is to my family for me to be sober. I hope you can draw a parallel to my story to yours. It ain't about the money, or easy hours. There's a learned helplessness to change your situation. You accept that this is your life until you have the courage enough to come out in the real world. This behavior is like living in a cocoon you can never escape. So, turn to gangs, guns, drugs. Then you talk about what you don't have, what you want to do.... Take many seats. You terrorize the neighborhood you live in, therefore I don't want to hear anything you have to say.

April of 2016, I delivered to the orange big box builder's supply on 7 Mile road. The original plan was to sleep somewhere enroute, but heavy fog slowed me down so much, that I had to drive straight through to make my delivery appointment. Parked in the lot in front of the place, and a police chase went right past at 3 AM, and somebody was shooting. Did a search online, and discovered that there had been a murder IN THE PARKING LOT where I was parked a month earlier. When I left, my entrance ramp to I-94 was closed, and I had to reroute. I drove through the neighborhood with burned out and tagged houses for blocks and blocks. White knuckle trip.

Its because most of the people who participate in these documentaries are actually informants. If they show the face of the informant, someone recognizes them and gets killed, then HOW will they get the information? Do research on informants and how they are protected. Different laws in different states allow certain kinds of protections and that also means being protected during documentaries in which they are basically selling information to remain in the loop.

I’ll tell u, treat ppl with respect be it drug dealers , prostitution, drug users, alcoholics, etc in fact if someone looked shady entering the store, the guys with some street respect waited around till the shady guy left . There was a lady head cashier worked same location for 20+ years and acted as asst manager her name was Phyllis, (RIP) everybody respected and treated her like a mother and again without issues as if there was a code of honor being followed . I grew up in this area in the '50s and '60s. It was like a small town with nice stores, schools, and libraries. We never locked our homes or cars and everyone looked out for each other. We had people from many different countries as well as some Mexican and blacks. Most men worked in factories, in construction, and for the city. The cops were visible day and night and were active in the neighborhood. I remember sitting on the porch in the summer, sometimes until midnight talking with friends and family. When it snowed the men would go out and shovel the walks, streets, and alleys.
