Skim coat is a 2 mm coat of plaster applied to walls by skimming and is increasingly popular in Asia, Saudi Arabia, UAE, North Africa, Brazil and parts of Europe. One of its advantages is its broad application spectrum. Skim coat can be applied to concrete, brick masonry, cement render, fiber board, ALC blocks, external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS) among others. Modifying the skim coat with dispersible polymer powders such as VINNAPAS® has been shown to significantly improve the quality and durability of the skim coat.
