Marcus och Martinus Gunnarsen slog igenom redan som tioåringar när de vann Norges motsvarighet till Lilla Melodifestivalen.
Under sitt dryga decennium i rampljuset har de bland annat sålt ut en egen arenaturné i Europa, turnerat med artister som Jason Derulo och uppträtt på kronprinsessan Victorias 40-årsfirande med en specialskriven låt.
2016 utsågs duon till "Årets spellemann", det tyngsta priset på Spellemann-galan, som är den norska motsvarigheten till Grammisgalan.
Deras största hit “Elektrisk” blev den låt som legat längst på topp 10-listan i Norge med sina 66 veckor. De vann svenska Masked Singer 2022 och flyttade sin bas till Stockholm, där de arbetar med svenska låtskrivare och producenter.
De Melodifestival-debuterade 2023 med "Air, som" blev det första bidraget i Melodifestivalens historia att gå direkt till final utan att någon av de tävlande artisterna vid någon tidpunkt hade bott i Sverige. I finalen slutade Marcus & Martinus på andra plats och blev den tangerat bäst placerade helt utländska akten någonsin, tillsammans med Arja Saijonmaa (1987).

I'm writing my comments in English to ensure they can be read and understood by the majority of people. Since 2007, I've been watching "Melodifestivalen," and I've noticed something interesting. Whenever I pick a song for Eurovision from the contest, it tends to win. But if my favorite song doesn't make it in "Melodifestivalen," Sweden usually doesn't do well in Eurovision. I'm not sure why. Maybe when Sweden doesn't want to host Eurovision again, they pick a weaker song on purpose to avoid winning. Money could be tight because of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Anyways, good luck to contestants Marcus & Martinus! This year, I've found three awesome songs: SIP, Dotter, and Jay Smith [Dude, you came in a wrong time .. this is TikTok generation), and two fun ones from Cazzi Opeia and Medina. I don't think popularity is going down, having known the Eurovision in the 90s it was seen as a cringy bad show that people were ashamed to admit they were watching. Lately it is taken seriously by most countries, launching international careers and grabbing attention of a bigger audience. This song is very Swedish, a well produced pop song, and that is what Sweden always did best, no change there, generic yes in the sense that Sweden does Sweden just like UK does UK, Ukraine does Ukraine, etc. Every country tries to bring what they do best.
