My HP deskjet 4100 is giving me a hard time connecting. I even had a issue with the app. It asked me to turn on my location on the phone. You didn't have to do that. Thanks for sharing.

Hi I didn't do it because I have already switched on my location on my phone. If you are asked to turn your location go ahead it will help to identify you printer proximity, you will also be asked to press the information button on your printer when connecting to WiFi network. Let me know if you need any further support

Hello. Thank you for your video. My printer has been working but now will not. I have ink. The info and Wifi lights are on steady not flashing and app states I that I am in fact connected to WiFi. But it will not print. It says my printer is "busy" and the power light is flashing. Do you know what the issue is? :( I'm losing my mind and have spent hours trying to figure this out. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you.

Hi Susan if the printer is not printing and on the app it says printer busy what that mean is perhaps there is a job that have not yet completed. What you can do is to unplug the printer from the power and connect it back again. Following the process you did before connecting to WiFi then try again. Let me know if it helps

The other thing you need to check is making sure you have the correct printer on the app, like if you want to print you select the printer that is available. You can also remove the printer on the app and add it back again, or delete the app and reinstall it can also help. If the printer is connected properly if am correct the only light that suppose to be on would be steady blue light for WiFi and Power light.

Hi how did you hooked up your printer? WiFi or USB cable connection? If it is WiFi you can uninstall the Hp smart app and reinstall it again then add a printer already connected to WiFi to be able to get the printer online also complete alignment on your printer .I hope it helps.

You should turn it off and unplug it from the socket to save your electricity / energy bill. If you want to use it simple plug it back to the socket it will still connect to WiFi automatically without the need to put your WiFi password again

@Arianna It can work with Internet from the phone but you need to use On the go (OTG) cable and with printershare app for it to work. Let me know if you get on

It shows that there could be a paper stock inside the printer somewhere, what you can do is turn the printer off and check and make sure no paper inside the printer and turn it back on

I have a HP4122,downloaded the app,works fine from my i phone.I downloaded the app onto my HP laptop,it shows all the information about the printer and communicates with it,but it will not print from my laptop.It seems to confuse the printer to the point that it will not do anything unless I unplug it and start again.Is it advisable to buy the lead from Amazon and use it hard wired?I have been through all the things on the laptop (windows 10) and it shows that the laptop recognises the printer and that its connected.Have you any ideas?

Hi Paul if you download the HP smart app on your HP laptop you still need to connect your printer to WiFi network . Basically your printer and laptop need to be connected to the same WiFi network to be able to print, copy and scan. The other option like you said is to buy USB cable from Amazon to connect it via USB. You also need to check from your laptop that you are sending the job to print to the correct printer. My computer will often show several printers I have used before so making sure you select the correct printer series on your laptop would help.

@@Vinneltv Hi,thanks for your reply.I have spent most of the weekend trying various things and at one point I completely lost the wireless capability on the printer.I eventually restored it and it is definately on the same wifi network with the computer.And it still will not print.It shows a preview on my computer and all of the information ie.paper size,orientation picture size and the print icon lights up.Click on the icon and nothing happens.I will now order a usb lead.Anyway thanks for your reply

@Imamalia you can use 4x6, 5x7 and if you look at the paper tray for your printer 4100 you will see the photo paper that can be use and when you connect your printer via HP smart app ,it gives you the option to print PHOTO or print Document .Also select Jpg for Photo and PDF for Document
