You can use your PC (Laptop) download HP smart app from google play store on your PC the search for available printer and connect your printer to WIFI on your PC

You need to check you are using the correct Ink cartridges, once loaded turn printer off and turn it back on , Can I asked did you connect you printer to WIFI network or USB cable as you need to connect the printer to network to be able to print, scan and copy

The reason I gave 4 stars for tech support (which I don't think this would classify as tech support) is because once you turn the printer on, it does require a little bit of start up time which may bother some who are in a hurry to quickly print something. To offset that though the printer prints very quickly. I would definitely purchase this printer again.

Delete old WIFI by uninstall HP smart app and reinstall it again to search and add your printer then select your new WIFI NETWORK detail and add the password to connect

If you search printer if you can find the printer click and select my printer is not listed and follow the instruction going forward the HP smart app will use temporary WIFI connect then eventually the printer would be found so you can put the WIFI password and connect the printer

So to be clear. You did not have to use a PC at all in this . I don’t want a new printer if I have to hook it up through a pc. I only want to use my iPhone.

If you connect with your iPhone you don't do anything with your PC, just download HP smart app on your iPhone then search and add your printer, type in your WiFi Password for your printer to be connected. From HP smart app you can select print, copy and scan from your phone.
