Vinnie, if you're reading this, take it from me. I tried everything to shed pounds until I landed on the answer -- intermittent fasting. That is an unfortunate name for simply choosing a time of day and not eating anything after that. It works! You don't have to change what you eat (although I recommend throwing in a giant salad every day). Keep all you eating to within a 7 hour period -- 8 hours if you must. It's like adding space to a groove. It's 3/4 time -- 1 beat of eating, 2 beats of fasting. Man does your body like that rhythm. We are creatures of occasional eating. It is MUCH harder to eat selectively than to fast entirely. I really believe this is the only way.

I’m a sound engineer, I’ve recorded Vinnie a fair amount. I can tell you from experience he can sight read anything, including tempo changes. While all the other musicians go into the control room to listen to a new song and make notes on the charts, Vinnie goes out to smoke. Someone grabs him when it’s time to record again, he comes in and plays through the chart cold better than everyone else who just listened and made notes. He is truly on another level from all other drummers. It’s an honor and a pleasure to record him. He never needs a second take in the 20 years I’ve been doing sessions with him.
