Im viewer 333!!! A sign if you ask me. And its my first view. I look forward to buying my own vinnie paul triggers

They work pretty dang well. I have them on acoustic drums. I had to add some gel to my snare and piccalo to reduce some double triggering, but the DDTI unit handles everything else pretty well. Not that a lot of people have them - but they will NOT mount on roto toms. I was thinking about adding some to my vistalite kit (I have them) but trigger them to be 'other' drums.... Gonna have to figure something else out.... But its likely a sign.... I bought two sets of the triggers.. being viewer 333, you may have to buy 3 sets ;-) 6KICK TRIGGERS!!! GO BOZIO!! ;-)

Hello, very good video. Do you know if the DDTi works with the cymbal choke system?
@TheSingingDrummer
@TheSingingDrummer 3 ай бұрын
Thanks.... I'm sorry I don't know how the DDTI works with a cymbal choke. I am only using them to trigger my acoustic drums. At first I was having fantastic results.... but lately, I've started to have some missed and double triggers. The DDTI definately needs to tweaking when triggering acoustic drums with real heads on them. But I don't think it is any more or less than any other system that is triggering acoustic drums ;-) Thanks for watching!!!

You bet - let me know if there are any other aspects of the triggers or DDTI that you'd like me to go thru and I can try and do that!

@@TheSingingDrummer Thank you! I am using the DDTi only for my electronic drums. I also have problems with the 3-zone ride with 2-cable system, when I play the bell it sounds simultaneously with the sound of the bow, I can't fix it yet
@TheSingingDrummer

That sounds trickey. I've not tried the DDTI with cymbal pads at all, especially not a 3 zone ride. Their tech support might help you out - or maybe 66Samus (kzbin.info/door/3unJShm6iXtw9QgDnb9KPg) could help you out? He has used a lot of triggers and a lot of electric drum sets. His set up on the DDTI is what I used to set mine up. And he responded to an email I sent so you might give him a shot???

Acoustic together with triggers is the best of the 2 worlds. Some years ago I built my own electronic drum kit used Arduino and Addictive Drums 2. Great great audio but terrible feeling.

I confess, I don't have a lot of time. Another hopeful 'benefit' of having triggers was to change kit sounds in the mix and keep moving. While editing the video, I realized I had the second rack Tom set to the same note as the first. I couldn't hear it bc of the kit being acoustic. I was about to re-record again (like the fifth time I had gone thru that process to make this video when I thought 'wait, I can just change that in the box!'. After changing the notes and even lowering the floor tom it hit me... I can do this from song to song too... This could be a big deal for me :-)

@@TheSingingDrummer With Midi and a vst you can change drum sound and mix as you want after recording very easy because its a digital. Its some time since i was into this..

Hey man, great content! Thinking to start recording drums the same way, triggers on drums, overheads for cymbals. How do you handle / reduce the bleed from the drums in the overheads? Thanks!
@TheSingingDrummer
@TheSingingDrummer 11 ай бұрын
Thanks!!! Low cut filter and positioning of the mics to 'see' mainly cymbals and not drums. There will still be bleed... The Glyn Johns method of drum set recording is primarily using overheads. The triggers give you a ton of control though. My intention was just to reduxe the amount of live mics in the room when I am singing, doing drum covers - mission accomplished!! Now, if life would get out of the way and allow me to get into my space and get doing that again!!! #theholidayswillbeoversoon :-)

I'm using pretty much the same setup, except I can't for the life of me figure it out. Studio one, hertz drums, and ddti with elite triggers. I show signal on the software but can't get sound. It's driving me crazy. Been reading and watching videos. Everyone makes it look so easy. I can't get it working.

So you can see signal going in on the channel in studio one - but no sound is coming out? As long as the ddti is set up so say the snare is triggering the correct midi note (I want to say it is D1 or 38...) And your plug in has the snare set up to trigger a sound when it sees signal come in on that same note - the. You should see audio come out (to the mains for instance). You could maybe take a video of your set up and send it to me (DM me on FB messenger) and I can see if there is something else going on??

Yes you can see signal on the DDTi and also on studio one. I was thinking its a. Setting in studio one but maybe I have something wrong still on the DDTi. If you are willing to take a look through video chat some time or something I'd be happy to pay you for your time. At this point I'm just getting kinda frustrated. We are so close to getting is setup and then hit a new snag haha

I'm on the west coast so time zones being what they are - we should be able to figure something out!!

Can it works with a roland trigger ?
@TheSingingDrummer
@TheSingingDrummer 4 ай бұрын
I am not sure, but there are settings to change trigger types - not by manufacturer - but by type. You can check that out on page 16 of their manual... www.ddrum.com/images/manuals/DDTi.pdf The Ddrum triggers work pretty well with the Ddrum interface. I've just been having a hard time findind a good kit that has a good 8" tom ;-(

yep - I don't have any mesh heads... I play that little kit out. I have the triggers on the big kit now... just been having some issues with the 16" floor tom double triggering... but I'll get it worked out.
