Yeah those were the days. To ask a girl out, you’d look her up the phone book and call her parents’ land line. On date night, she would have a perm, denim jacket, and tight jeans. You might hang out at the video arcade for an hour before standing in line to get your movie tickets and popcorn. Then, while you are watching Nightmare on Elm Street, she gets scared and cuddles with you.

Just think if Kiss never fired Vinnie Vincent we would never have gotten Vinnie Vincent Invasion and if Vinnie Vincent Invasion never got rid of their original vocalist we would never have gotten Mark Slaughter and if Vinnie Vincent Invasion never broke up we would have never gotten the band Slaughter. So what I’m trying to say is thank you Vinnie Vincent.

So long since I've waited To live again You've brought my world to an end Love takes it's victim and leaves its remains My broken heart has died in vain Tell me why have we forsaken the dreams we had The pain makes it so hard to understand You're a lifetime ago but a memory away And I'll love you 'til my resurrection day Love kills the fire's gone Dying embers still remain Love kills and now you're gone Girl, I'll never be the same again Without your love, seems so dead and unreal And now there's nothing left to feel Someday we'll meet again - girl that much I know At heaven's gate we'll say hello Now I hear the wind is calling my lonely Lonely lonely soul For sorrows trembling hands please let me go Love's dying sin is just dust in the wind I face the other side of no tomorrow Love kills the fire's gone Dying embers still remain Love kills and now you're gone - Girl I'll never be the same Love kills and love is just a dying ember in the rain Love kills a heart betrayed - Lord, please, please - Ease my pain - love kills - girl I need your love Love kills with all its heart

Man, I love this song. It is the best 80s song I have heard. This band had so much potential; you can hear it here and on that time of the year. But how long would they have had time until, in a couple of years, grunge came around and hair metal basically disappeared? I also like to think this is quite close to what Guns n' Roses would have sounded like if they had chosen to play hair metal. And damn I love the vocal line on 0:40 . Really amazing vocalist. And nobody talks about how badass Vinnie was with solo and with pick scrape 4:06 . One of the coolest things in 80s music videos or any video for that matter. Way more badass than George Lynch on Dream Warriors. Vinnie was one of the best-looking guys around, he was hair metal to the bone.

Drummer Bobby Rock and especially bassist Dana Strum were always outcasts in the "Vinnie vincent Invasion" videos in terms of on-camera approaches. But in this video they were totally left out in the final cut. If I'm not mistaken there is not a single close-up of them in this clip. Only Mark and Vinnie have close-ups, so it looks like a video of a duet and not of a four member band.

Songs need not be religious hymns to have a spiritual resonance. When my mom was dying among the songs I listened to was this one and Queen's Who Wants To Live Forever. Does it surprise you that a metal song can bring one to tears? IT SHOULD NOT.

Boy do I wish Vinnie would have got another singer when Mark left instead of disbanding the band. His two albums are classic they are as good as any of the 80's bands Vinnie besides being a great guitarist was a great song writer. I'd loved to seen him do a few more ballads like this and That Time Of Year
