Ray Lewis is 1 of the greatest most feared competitors in the history of professional sports. No one has or ever will play the MLB position like Ray Lewis. His combination of smarts, physical dominance, and pure hatred of loosing made him the greatest linebacker ever. (In my opinion)

Josh Potts It's weird tho alot of the guys who u could argue are better are mainly pass rush oriented so if u go by just sacks or something of course Ray isn't the best then but middle of the field straight up tackling and leading a defense its hard to argue imo. Add longevity of 17 years to Lts 13 and that Raven defense the entire time he was around was nasty. Still kinda is from the impact he had. 17 tackles at the age of 39 at the broncos in a playoff game.. ridiculous. It's just an opinion thing tho to me it's those three u have for sure just varied orders
@joshpotts6316
@joshpotts6316 8 жыл бұрын
***** Ray isn't better as far as stats, and sacks go. They didn't record tackles in Taylor's era or he would have way more. Ray Lewis is top 3 all time, and arguably top 2. Ray had 42 sacks in 17 seasons. Lawrence had 133 sack in 13 seasons. Ray never dominated entire games the way LT did. How is Ray a better LB than the guy many say is the greatest player ever
@joshpotts6316
@joshpotts6316 8 жыл бұрын
***** I agree! That's why I have Ray at 2nd! Taylor was just a freak. Taylor is widely considered the most dominant player in NFL history regardless of position. Ray Lewis, John Lynch, and Roy Williams were my 3 favorite defensive players growing up!

He wears 52 because when he was a kid his mother was always getting beat brutally and he would always ask for a deck of cards. Everyday he would take the deck of cards and take one and flip it, and however many numbers were on that card (Ace = 25, Joker = 50, King, Queen and Jack = 10) he would use it to correspond to how many push-ups, or sit-ups he would do until he was done. He counted up the deck of cards and wears 52 because that's how many cards are in a deck.

I'm from Baltimore, a die hard Ravens fan and I love Ray Lewis. He is undoubtedly the greatest _middle_ linebacker of all time. That said, the greatest linebacker of all time is also the greatest defensive player of all time and you could easily make an argument for the greatest _football_ player of all time and that is Lawrence Taylor. It's not even close. Those not old enough to have watched LT can't understand. Forget defensive backs, he made catches that wide receivers can't make. The story goes, he was in his 9th season the first time one of the Giants safeties outran him in practice. There will never be another LT.

Probably the smartest linebacker I've ever watched play. Lewis wasnt inordinately fast for the position - he was knew every single thing that was happening, where he had to be, and when to get there. For all the well-deserved credit for his incredible hits, and his leadership, I can never get over how often Lewis arrived at the exact place he needed to be, at the exact time, without having been touched along the way. A craftsperson's understanding of the game. Great video.

Look I was born & raised in Pittsburgh pa, Die hard Steelers fan. Let me tell you, I hate the Ravens!! However, I love me some Ray Lewis....in my opinion, hands down the best Middle Linebacker ever! Man the way he would move sideline to sideline was so impressive, I mean this guy was 10-15 tackles damn near every game. His football IQ was on genius level! 52 was the best!! I miss Ray, However There is a guy in Carolina that is my 2nd favorite middle linebacker, the white Ray Lewis, Luke Keuchly!!

And how could anyone forget 2000: the Fucking Record-setting defense and first Super Bowl run. In 2000, Ray Lewis led a defense which was the greatest in NFL history for a single season. They set a 16-game single-season fucking record for fewest points allowed (165) and fewest rushing yards allowed (970).

I know this won't be a popular opinion. Idc. When I think of the greatest FOOTBALL PLAYER of all time. A guy who is the living embodiment of what FOOTBALL is and has always been. I think of RAY LEWIS first. And I've never seen 1 player have such an impact on a team. He made everybody be held accountable from sorry quarterbacks to extremely avg head coaches. I've never seen anything like it.... I wasn't around for mean Joe greene... but I was for LT Ray Lewis is better than LT... That's saying a lot

+Eugene Martin from a pure talent level, he's right there with anyone whose ever played defense. You could split hairs about on the field impact with a few guys...lt, Reggie white, etc.. but if you add in his leadership, field General abilities he's my number one defender of all time at any position. I think lt may have been a touch more talented / disruptive but Ray would mold entire units to his psychology. Every man to a T that played with him would ride and die for him.

Best MLB , EVER. I don't know how many times I thought he literally killed fools out there. 2000 Ravens were the best D ever as well, and Ray was the engine. How many times in history could you say once we score a fg or td its over? That D was just getting rolling in the playoffs. The Giants scored on special teams that SB. They were absolutely DOMINATED by the Raven D. The Ravens D outscored the Giants. It wasn't a system, they just played base D and ate teams alive. Oh you gonna roll with 4 wide, no worries, here's our base D. Greatest ever. The only other D that resembled them was the Legion of Boom.

Ok...video aside, let's put this murderer crap to rest people: Initially charged with murder, no evidence. Then charged with obstruction and then perjury. In other words, he didn't snitch...and sat in jail for a year because he didn't. Obstruction and perjury is NOT...I repeat...NOT murder. At this point I think that the only people who still say that crap about him are either just salty about their own worthless existence or just trolls...or maybe both. Now, back to the video. Excellent work. I just subscribed and will check out more...keep up the great work. And by the way... Ray Lewis...GOAT. And that's coming from someone old enough to see LT and Singletary as the games happened and not just on a KZbin video.
