So, as this game takes place in 2011, the recent 2019 Ugandan Wildlife Act would not apply. So I went ahead and looked up the 1996 law. According to the Uganda Wildlife Act of 1996, the killing of Protected Species was punishable by a fine of UGX 1 million (or around $400), or five years in prison, or both. It's up to a judge to determine how to apply penalties in cases of multiple protected animals being killed, however, it is possible to apply them all as separate offences. In his approximately 30 minutes in Africa, Vinny killed 15 crocodiles, 12 leopards, and 21 lions. This would have been enough to accrue fines of up to 48 million Ugandan shillings, or around $19,200, and, at the discretion of the judge, anywhere between 5 and 240 years of jail time. Some or all of these offences may have been mitigated under the exception for self-defense. However, Vinny failed to report the instances immediately to the Ugandan authorities, and so he is unlikely to receive this exception. Vinny killed about 3.8% of Uganda's estimated 2011 lion population of 500-600 individuals. Under the current, and far more strict 2019 Ugandan Wildlife Act, Vinny would be subject to UGX 960 million in penalties, around $264,000, as well as a life sentence in prison. While this game is great and a trip, Dangerous Hunts 2013 is an absolute fever dream. Twice the kills, twice the asinine insanity, twice the supernatural elements, twice the Call of Duty animal hunting simulator. Conservationalist Extrordinaire and Shadow the Hedgehog glass all of Africa, the game. Its beautiful.

But the va is much better, the strange old world structures in mountian pass Uganda, Monkey controlled thunderdome, trees with more big cats than leaves, behavioral manipulating demonic sandstorms cause the animal fever, the straight up horror section with the Hyenas in the firewatch station and a Black Lion with roar AoEs I think makes for a much more enjoyable fever dream.

I played the crap out of this game when I was like 10. Still legitimately find the very limited lore interesting. They used to come out with a different cabela’s game every year, every other year it would be a dangerous hunts game. The other ones come with varying levels of lore, like 2009 is easily the best because it has these open-world levels with little encounters spread throughout, and the story was just the story of one guy who lost his friend to a bear eventually killing the very same bear, with miscellaneous other dangerous hunting in levels in between. Dangerous hunts 2013 is a very similar game to 2011. Edit: they did the yeti in the final level of Dangerous Hunts 2, which was like a mix between this game and 2009. Edit 2: Vinny calling this game fun gives me life. Edit 3: I think in the lore 99% of the animals in this game are just doing their thing and are naturally aggressive or passive. Only the boss animals and late game animals could be evil. Maybe the wolves in the midnight level too but thats more of a theory besides the black wolves.

I had this on ps3 with an actual gun controller. The story was an acid trip that made no sense. My brother and I got through the story after being stuck on the final mission for months (it was ridiculously hard for no reason). Good memories.
