Fun facts explaining extra hidden detail of this game's writing: - Ravens are known to hunt together with wolves, seemingly acts as spotters, and even play together with wolf pups. It's adorable. - The nordic god Odin's iconic animals were ravens, especially a pair of them, Huginn and Muninn, acting on his behalf; alongside them, he had a pair of wolves, Geri and Freki. Odin was also missing one eye, having sacrificed it in exchange for arcane knowledge. - The protagonist's dad in the game specifically has a pair of sons, and a missing eye. - In the first chapter of the game, as you hunt with your dad and brother, you can hear a whistle before the ravens fly over, and with them come the wolves. It also happens later in the game, as the wolves attack your brother and you. Even later, the game hints that someone is controlling the animals, and that it might be tied to the experiments to train animals into "soldiers". - In the last chapter, a journal entry specifically says your dad helped with the animal soldier research program. Besides the "werehyena you fight at the end is your dad (it's even missing the left eye, too)", there was also, either intentionally or accidentally, Odin symbolism tied to the protag's dad, for.. some reason. Or it's all a coincidence, and he's just a crazy retired researcher who controls wolves (which might explain their glowing red eyes, I suppose?). Bonus fun fact: Relationship between ravens and wolves is reflected in 621 and Rusty's friendship in Armored Core VI

Hey, he played it to completion and experienced it in all it's stupid glory. Personal high light of this game is the car chase segment where Mbeki's audio quality downgrades to Who Killed Captain Alex levels of sound quality, it's so loud and jarring to amusing degree. Hope when he dose play the other cursed Cabela hunting game he will noitced how simlair it is to this one, following almost the same format as this game.

Dangerous Hunts 2013 is basically just a remake of this game. It's got more action but less insane Metal Gear/Demon stuff in it. A better follow up might be Cabela's Survival: Shadows of Katmai, which is an Uncharted knock off with native American spirits and super bears.

(youtube has been auto deleting my comments for "some reason" so this is my 4th attempt to say this) i think the funniest part of this game is when it pulls the slow-mo to counter an animal attack, where you have to blast them point blank enough time to avoid damage, that if you fail the damage threshold, they just walk off all the brain bullets. no big deal😆

Hearing Jorge's voice near the beginning of the stream caught me off guard. So this is where he was dropped off after getting Slipspaced into nothingness over Reach. Just to clarify, the incorporeal voice heard in the journal entries is Jorge from Halo Reach. Mbeki is not, though at times he sounds a little similar. Sort of.
