When I was first watching the stream VOD for this, I was quick to dismiss a lot of what characters were saying as being cryptic for cryptic's sake. I was under the assumption that the developer (intentionally or not) was simply adopting a minor trend in the online art space, where it's now hip (or I guess always was) to mimic early CGI, PC software, and the retro aesthetics of late 90s/early 2000s video game consoles. I still think that, but this bit here about the mime performing out of not just passion, but a conceited desire to be adored and revered by an audience of some kind, is almost like a guilty confession most creatives wouldn't admit.

idk how much this one will resemble the first disillusion but as someone that had that same process while i started playing it, it went soo much deeper. there's indeed a lot of surrealism for surrealism's sake but there's also a lot of symbolism around religion and mental illness and the "retro"/nostalgic vibe of it just kinda helps the impact a bit more. again not sure if this one will follow the same route but the first game definitely surprised me with how deep and thought-provoking it ended up being
