I used to read creepypasta all the time back in college. This was a fun trip down memory lane, "Mario PC Port" (the one Mario '85 was based on) was always my favorite Mario one because of MX's design. Pretty much every video game Pasta program-esque monster took inspiration from Sonic.exe, that being just the regular mascot with black bleeding eyes, so this hulking pale Mario felt pretty fresh to me at the time.

Mario '85 is truly an eldritch game, given how it caused Vinny to lose his mind and fall fully into the maw of madness. Other note: Mario '85 is an actually well put together game. Its recreation of Mario 1 Physics is spot on, even allowing for exploits such as wall jumping, as shown by Vinny on multiple occasions. Vinny was able to successfully juke the evil Mario with a huge mouth for jaw-boning on several occasions, and the mechanics are surprisingly consistant, given how Vinny was able to consistantly make the bounce jump halfway through the stage if he kept running. This game, while still bullcrap hard and having some """HITBOXES""" (I think the character turning around is focused on the front of the sprite, meaning that when it turns its hitbox drastically shifts), is designed much better than many of its ilk, surpassing the boundaries of typical creepypasta games, in the sense that Mario '85 can actually be considered a "game". As a bonus, it also caused Vinny to experience ego death live on stream. Love to see it

I also think it's a shiny example on why playtesting and tweaking the boss "fight" difficulty curve is very important to avoid an one hour tryhard session. An interesting thing is since it is static it isn't as hard as you'd think, a lot of it lines up really nicely. Most of it is just Vinny isn't the best at times and you can see this from how often he got the same death in the same spot in the same way. This is easier then easy Geometry Dash. You just have to pay attention and not give into brain rot and memes.
