This song was originally sung by Yesudas ji for Lahu Ke Do Rang , not picturised in the movie by Mahesh Bhatt saab. God knows why? My Guru VK sang this tough classical song so easily which proves his versatility in singing also. I heard he was going to sing a song in Farishtey (1991) but unfortunately not done. If this quality of VK would have been utilised as well as publicised as done in case of other heroes of Bollywood, then we the die hard fans of VK, would have been blessed with such songs sung in the golden voice of VK, the real superstar and Muqaddar Ka Badsha of Bollywood.
