Vinogradov: Solovii (1946) or Nightingales, Соловьи

This is a rare recording, and you are unlikely to find it anywhere else. My grateful thanks to the lady who kindly sent it to me.
Georgy Pavlovich Vinogradov (Георгий Павлович Виноградов) sings "Solovii" or "Nightingales" (Соловьи) with the Alexandrov Ensemble, conducted by Alexander Vasilyevich Alexandrov at the Municipal Hall, Prague, 12 June 1946. I'm sorry: at first we thought wrongly that this was Nikitin, and I cannot correct the details and picture on the video.

This is a live concert recording; you can hear applause at the beginning and end. But this was a time of endings. A.V. Alexandrov died suddenly the following month.
It is interesting to compare the recordings of Solovii by Vinogradov and Belyaev. For over 60 years, the Ensemble has used the same wonderful arrangement for this song, complete with drumrolls and brass to wake the soldiers for more glory while the song asks for peace and quiet.

Поют воины. Никакой ресторанщины, а песня очень лирическая, очень грустная. Александрову слава! Умел собрать воедино текст, музыку, солистов. Большая ЕМУ БЛАГОДАРНОСТЬ!

Linda, please, correct the Title of this song. It's Nikitin NOT Vinogradov singing as you perfectly know! ))

My apologies. I wrongly uploaded the video with a picture of Nikitin, then later realised that the voice is Vinogradov's. So it's the picture that is wrong, not the title. Nikitin was born with the most beautiful voice, but he no other tenor developed a technique quite like Vinogradov's.
