Just travelled back to my childhood. It was always the first ride I begged my parents to take me when we went to KI back then. Of course it ended in 1984 when I turned the corner to see....Smurfs! Nooooo! Thanks so much for this!

Thanks for posting. Brought back many boyhood memories. Kings Island isn't what it used to be. I miss that my kids couldn't experience the enchanted ride too. the Little Miami RR Train ride and all the Cowboy and Indian Gunfights with blanks. No more Bat, No more Cobra. I was there this past summer and the only thing that's still about the same is The Beast and The Racer.

Kings Island took out the Cowboy and Indian Gunfights and the Guns that shot due to the encroaching political correctness. Now its just a boring ride that goes around in a circle and passes a small western town facade that is falling apart!

One would HAVE to be at least 40 years old or so to even REMEMBER this WONDERFUL ride !! it was one of the FIRST rides I rode at KI..the first time i went in 1977 or so..and ALWAYS was one of my FAVORITE rides...till it became the "smurf" ride in 1984 or so..

WOW! This took me back to when I was 5/6 years old. Living in Cincinnati, we use to go to KI all the time. I loved everything about this ride. I especially remember the clown's teeth at the end that use to rise and fall between boats. I was always afraid it wouldn't rise in time! Thank you for sharing this.

Wow! Brings back great memories!! Remember how refreshing the cold air conditioning felt on a super hot day on this ride at Kings Island?!! Thank you so much for sharing this! I wonder if any parts or pieces from this ride still exist. It would be so cool to have a piece of this ride's history!

Always loved this ride! We were there back in 1973 I think. I remember the Brady Bunch and The Partridge Family had filmed and episode there. Another favorite ride I miss was the train ride. I was very disappointed I didn't get to see The Banana Splits there. However, I do remember it was on a weekend when we had been there. Fun times those were!

Wow!! Such amazing footage from one of my all time favorite magical and exciting rides of all time!!! I so wish that Cedar Fair would drop the Peanuts but that will never happen. It would cost them too much to transition it back. The glory days of Hanna Barbera Characters at Kings Island!!! This ride The Enchanted Voyage was the most unique and awesome ride that was in the park in the 1970's. On a hot day, this was a ride where the line moved really fast and the ride was almost 5 minutes long and air conditioning made it feel so good next to the Lion Animal Safari where you could ride 20 minutes in air conditioning and cool off on those hot days. It would be so amazing if Cedar Fair had the license for Hanna Barbera Characters and had them at their parks instead of Snoopy. The Peanuts gang are cool as well but the kids know not much about them as we do. I wish that Cedar Fair could put Kings Island back to the way we all remember the park of the 1970's!!!!!!

+Jim Ewen If they create a dark ride similar to this featuring the scenes and moments from the Peanuts comics and specials I think it would be a cool idea honestly. But that only if they do create that but I doubt it would happen sadly. ;-;
@jimewen196819 жыл бұрын
+SonicJasper Thank you for replying!!! Yes Peanuts would be cool as well. Have you ever experienced this ride while at Kings Island? It was changed to all Smurfs which kind of was ok but not like the HB Characters. It then went to a dry ride called Phantom Theater which was really good as well. They then took that theme away and went to Scooby Haunted Castle then Cedar Fair bought the park and took away the Scooby theming and changed to just a generic Boo Blasters on Boo Hill. The theming right now really sucks and the guns dont work half the time. I really wish they would revamp this building and change it back to a water boat ride and do the Peanuts theming!! It would work, and I hope Cedar Fair will consider this??? Help me to try and ask them to do this???? If people ask they will consider!!! Matt Ouimet the CEO of Cedar Fair is a former Disney guy and I bet he would go for something like this!!!! Again, thanks for the comment and reply.......

Jim Ewen I wish I had but sadly I was born to late. I seen history of King Island from that long video and it was really interesting. I might do that it seems like a good idea if that happens and if the Peanuts water ride did got build. When I had kids I want to go there and take them on that ride. But for now gonna save the bucks to travel all the way there. And no problem!

I am 48 and have wonderful memories of King's Island and this ride in particular. This was way before KI was taken over by huge corporations that sucked the soul and uniqueness out of KI. Thinking about going on this ride with my Grandma and Aunt how have now been long gone. Starting to get a little teared up......sorry....

Even though i never got to ride this since i was born in 1980 i have to comment on these old rides ect. I notice that back then they seemed to put a lot more creativity into rides and attractions, what they didn't have in large thrill rides they made up for in creative looking sets ect. It made for some very memorable attractions the type people wouldn't forget even years later but anyways that's my opinion of the vintage stuff at amusement parks.

Wonder what happened to all the animatronics whenever they replaced this with the smurf ride? I'd like to have that squiddly diddly octopus for myself. Not sure what I would do with it, but it would be neat to have and own.
