Nice job love the Red Rockets I have 3 79’s , 2 of which are just about to be rebuilt lol, You mention 2 chain rollers there are 3 on 1980 models one sits at the top of the chain just before the front sprocket, it’s worth doing that one too it’s a case saver and a great mod for earlier 78/79 models ,

Wet sand it. Works great. Fire heat it when your done, will bring shine out bright.

Now that.. is a beautiful bike, i also have a 1980 cr250r im restoring and its very far from it but i can only hope it looks like this when done, great job man id love to chat with you about the bike and the way you went about doing it all!

If it’s plastic I like to use a blow torch and and go over it after the sanding process!
