Roger, Can you give me some direction on that trim pot vocal mod like what wire go's to what post on the pot and board, video is a little grainy. Can i use a Alpha 100k pot in it's place? Thanks if you can help.. Great tutorial by the way.

you can see where the wires go.. there was a 33k resistor there .. the 100k pot goes there.. attach to the center and either side . one side is left in attached

@@thebrainard :: Just popped a 100k Linear taper pot in kept cutting out and in it did what it was suppose to do like yours. But something was wrong. opened it up I noticed a small stran of the wire was grounding to the other wire. Now it's working but not making much of a difference like 0k to 100k would. It's makes a minor change in the sweep voice but at zero like yours it should cut the Wah completely off like it did before I found the first issue, it doesn't. May need to try another pot.

@@thebrainard ::: I actually do but don't want to go any further with mods as this an old 70's Vox with the Thomas Organ guts TDK box inductor.. Almost drilled the Pot hole between the upper pedal and the body to make it more hidden and inconspicuous, Figured I could use a small knob set it and forget it. But went with it on the side.

Im trying to figure how to wire to true bypass can you hep me out let say the lugs are running 3 across top 3 across bottom The way it is wired right now i have on the top 3 across Lug closest to the pot side Blue /white / green. that would be hit or miss verbally ... here is a search ... hit the image tab and it will show you several true bypass schematics .. find your wah and boom www.google.com/search?q=true+bypass+wah&rlz=1C1CHBD_enUS778US778&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiU9NeO1N3ZAhUi4YMKHV2_CMAQ_AUIDCgD&biw=1920&bih=1104

Hi, I recently got a 70s TDK Thomas Organ Cry Baby (missing the switch), I installed a 3PDT switch (basically using it as a DPDT) and I'm getting no sound, only when I lift the input jack from the case it lets the sound pass to the amp, but when I engage the switch the effect doesn't work, could you help me diagnose what's going on?
@thebrainard4 жыл бұрын
probably not .. but it sounds like you you may have the hot and ground lugs connected on the input. this may help ashbass.com/AshBassGuitar/WahWah/duncan.jpg

roger brainard I looked at this one www.wah-wah.co.uk/effects/tb2.png for the wiring I did, since my input jack is probably shorted, I need to replace it with a regular one just like the picture you sent me, I’ll do that this weekend, thanks!

Hi Roger...I just bought a 70s Crybaby w TDK inductor after watching this video. The wah sounds you dial in are exactly the wah sounds I'm looking for. Is it possible for you to share some of the specifics to the mods you made with this particular wah? Most of the crybaby mods I find are for the GCB-95. If there is documentation that you know of, that would be awesome. Thank you again and phenomenal videos! Thanks for the inspirational sounds.

jbgoode2009 I must be missing something... all the mods for this wah are outlined at the beginning of the video .. this is a '70's thomas TDK wah... is your circuit board the same ?? the early dunlops looked different but were layed out the same .. also I have an in depth video .. kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5S9naObmdGUj9U here

roger brainard Hi Roger...my mistake...I went back to try and edit my comment to say thank you for the inspiration and information. I even tried to delete it after I realized you clearly outlined everything. I appreciate your time and information regardless!!! I can't wait for it to come in. Do you still have this one?
