I've sold remotes for a while but only $10 to $12, but the other day I found one for $3 at Goodwill. A Pioneer Plasma remote. Wow! Worth $50 and it sold in a week. Your right, the weirder they are seem to be worth more.

FYI Sony remotes for a type of device can be reprogrammed for any of the other models in the line. Reprogramming instructions are on their website.

anything Apple or Macintosh from the 90s that includes the original box has been a quick sale for me, every time I wish I would have set the price higher

Thanks again Justin... A few questions for your next AMA if you don't mind please? 1. How do you calculate the COGS for an item that was bought as part of a bundle of VERY different items? (e.g. a house clearance) 2. What's your strategy for sending out offers? 3. How do you determine/decide what to price an item when listing? Many thanks Eddie

Hi Eddie, I have some other videos that discuss answer to those questions in detail. Here they are: What is your strategy for sending out offers? kzbin.info/www/bejne/fGqqaYqKjL-NeKM How do you decide what to price an item when listing? kzbin.info/www/bejne/bXead4qboMZ_m6M When calculating COGS for a bundle, I usually just split the cost evenly across all. Sometimes I will give weight to the COGS based on the list value of the items within the bundle. So if I paid $100 for 10 things, instead of splitting each evenly, I might give one more valuable thing $50 and then split the remaining cost across the rest.

How do you document your inventory? I know you put it into your program how do you gather the information? Do you leave the sticker on? Do you take a picture or do you immediately log it somewhere? Thank you for your videos very informative.

The Sax-a-Boom sells because of Jack Black’s band Tenacious D…. He used it in his early live shows and it created a BOLO.

Hello and great video as always. Quick question- You mentioned you go to the thrift store once a week so do you buy enough each week to list 40+ listings per week (if I understand what you stated in the video properly) or is that amount augmented by other things you have at the house or you get elsewhere?
@justinresells

I have a backlog of stuff to pull from when I run low, but tend to source more per week than I list.

eBay doesn't give you the number directly. you calculate it by comparing the total number of active listings by the total number of sold listings.

Given that your average time to sell is 3 months, if I'm just getting started does that mean if I do things well I can expect to start seeing consistent sales once I've been doing this for 3 months?

I've got a bunch of old 35mm cameras, but not sure how to test them. How did you test the camera you sold this week?

I only battery test them and disclose that in the listing. Pop a battery in, turn it on, fire the flash, test the zoom (if available) etc.

Saying that an estate is usually old vintage stuff literally makes 0 sense. I'm guessing you don't go to estate sales often. I've been to hundreds where it all modern day stuff.

Are you sure you're talking about estate sales and not just general yard/garage/tag sales? My experience(though, I can't say I have been to "hundreds" of them) has been that the vast majority of estate sale merchandise is antique, vintage or just generally older stuff. Definitely not Nike Dunks! 😂

@@mattbinsc1 no estate sales like where you sign up in the morning and wait to go in the house. I do fantastic at them. a lot of times new modern stuff
@justinresells
@justinresells 6 ай бұрын
that's cool but definitely sounds location dependent. we have estate sales like that every so often but the vast majority are all older people who have passed away and thus filled with stuff from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, sometimes 90s@@hobson
