He-man and the Masters of the Universe Attak Trak is a great vehicle, but has a few common issues.
The motors often don't work, the battery cover is missing, the seatbelt is long gone, and the stickers are worn or missing. In this video I cover all those issues and get a much loved and well played with vintage toy back up and running. Restoring it to it's former glory.

I fully restored an attak trak last year. I have four original rubberbands sealed in the bag, but they dried out, so I couldn‘t use it. Instead I used black rubberbands from tatoo maschines I bought on E-bay. That works very well. My seatbelt and the battery cover is original. The stickers are replacements in good quality. To care of the old plastic, I use always Balistol (a german weapons oil you can use for so many things to care on). Great job, and greetings from germany.

A brilliant source for cheap rubber are bicycle innertubes, I always keep my old tubes that are beyond repair. I think poundland sell innertubes, I wouldn't trust them on my bike but would be ok for something like this. Great content thanks for sharing.

I just figured out a cool way to make the stickers look more like the originals aka vintage-ish. I printed them out on plain paper, used double sided sticky tape on the back and after applying them I used clear nail polish on them. The Polish of Na-il soaks into the paper and it makes them a bit shiny. It saturates the colours and makes them look older.

On the tread bands, I was looking at stepper motor belts. The rubber belts that are used on filament based 3D printing machines to move the machine parts around. Haven't found anything exact yet. But they do have a similar tread pattern which hooks into a drive gear on the motors of the printer.

Where do you get off fixing the toys that you own! HOW DARE YOU! Making a new battery cover?!? What gives you the right? Are you Mattel or a licensed representative of their company? Did you get PERMISSION? That battery cover will obviously spontaneously combust when those knock off wheel bands cause He-Man to wreck and kick the bucket leaving all of Eternia to fall under the unscrupulous Mwah-ha-ha-ha of Skeletor. You should leave broken incomplete toys broken and incomplete! THEY BELONG IN A MUSEUM!!! Okay I couldn't think of anymore dumb stuff to say so well done! Good find on the tape belts as wheel bands! Nice job and thanks for restoring my children's toys, but I have seen in many of the last videos that you say many times, example "THE BATTERY COVER" they did not look good that you put them in later and I don't know why you don't do it at the time of the video If it is due to laziness or you want to show that it is a poor job, it also happens with the paint match, I think that those of us who see your video deserve a quality job with a final result that meets the best of your effort and although I understand your premise is to spend little money and do it well greetings.
@toypolloi
@toypolloi 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I think. Some fixes don't need to be perfect, it's always good to remember that. And the battery cover is a great example. It's hidden on the bottom of the vehicle and will never be seen. Currently the UK is in lockdown and has been for many months so I can't go the shops to find the exact match of paint so I just use what I have. It's not perfect but it does a good enough job for now. In future when I can get out and properly pick up paint again I may come back to this and repaint it. For now it works just fine. Things do not need to be 100% correct to be enjoyed. Wabi Sabi all the way.
