You refreshed/restored that Francie perfectly - she looks exactly like what I remembered from childhood. She was my sister's favorite doll.

Oh my goodness thank you for filming twice!! I love seeing what you find❤ I recently went thrifting and found a totally hair barbie for a $1.50…she definitely needs a wash and a dress, shoes, but she did come with her earrings, ring, and headband so not too bad ☺️. But again thank you for sharing your Barbies❤

OMG!!!! You didn't tell me you found one I thought you meant the PJ from the repro set!!! She's a shut up PJ! XDDD All of them were great deals Manny I usually find them cheaper BUT all of mine are fixer uppers and filthy when I find them! And I find MOD and vintage dolls once in a blue moon, you have scored so many in such little time!!!! I have a European Standard Barbie you can have so she's a pale PJ right before getting tan! And I might have pink pilgrim shoes too I need to check my stash!!!
@somelikeitvntg Жыл бұрын
Yes! Thats my Pj! love her! Omgosh I’ve been wanting a European standard Barbie! 😭 Thank you! Oh and the pilgrim shoes! I can’t seem to find shoes anywhere at my flea markets.

Would you consider making a tutorial video on restoring Growing Pretty Hair Francie’s hair style?❤
@richardswinbusk7787 Жыл бұрын
Magnificent Manny! I remember all of them when they first came out! As you probably know PJ 's head mold is Midge's except with brown eyes and heavy eyeliner which looks great with her platinum blonde pigtails As for the Malibu Barbie there was a Canadian exclusive repro years later circa early 2000's Great dolls and deals❤❤
@somelikeitvntg Жыл бұрын
Yes, talking Pj is lovely! I love the updated screening they did on the Midge sculpt. I did not know about the Canadian exclusive Malibu Barbie. Are you Canadian?

6:00 That fashion is also called Silver Sparkle. Mattel used the name Salute To Silver on that dress when it came free when you buy an introductory promo of Talk Magazine.

It's quite easy to make those beaded hair ties i did it years ago. I have the TNT version. I have so much of those yellow pilgrim shoes it was what came with the outfits. I also have that silver dress it came with my Stacey but no doll is wearing it.

@@somelikeitvntg Hi! I'll probably use a vintage Francie head and shade her with panpastel to make her skin match. Or maybe I'll acetone-shrink a Madison My Scene head... This second option is a bit crazy, but I have a side-smiling rare head that may work 🤞

I am loving your videos and they are so informative! Can you tell me how you cleaned the metallic dresses? I have several that are very dingy. And I don't know how to clean them properly.
@somelikeitvntg Жыл бұрын
Hello! The metallic dresses I washed in room temperature water with a little bit of dish soap. I like to use Dawn dish detergent. Dawn makes one without fragrance and dyes. I like to make sure the water is nice and bubbly before putting the dress in. I leave it soaking for 15-30 min and rinse with cold water.

Hi there! Just found your channel and I’m really loving it so far 🥰 I have a question tho, I have a Barbie from the 90’s and she’s got some “stains” in her face and since you mentioned peroxide I was wondering if I apply it to her sculpt it won’t erase her face. If you or anybody could help me I’ll appreciate it 🫶🏽🫶🏽

Benzoyl Peroxide shouldn’t remove factory paint. I have not tried it on a custom painted doll though. So as long as your doll is not custom painted, she should be fine. You want to use 10% benzoyl and strong UV sunlight. I also wrap the head in plastic to avoid it drying out too fast. Also be careful not to get any in the hair as it can bleach the hair.
