“I love vintage ______!” Me too! Vintage music, movies, cars, homes, appliances, TV shows, furniture, etc! I have fond memories of playing these old games with family.

Blast from the past! I remember that Bride game from my ‘tweens’. I’m fairly confident that it hasn’t crossed my mind since then, so thanks for that. 😊 And that Clue board ~ lovely!

This video was made for me LOL! I LOVE vintage board games. ❤ I picked up one a few years ago that's a 1959 Whitman Lucky Fisherman game because my husband's a fisherman. Now, we have a 3 year old girl who loves it! It's just a simple game, not much to it, so she caught on quickly. She asks to play it all the time! I want an old Clue so bad...its my most favorite game!! Love your collection! 😊 Keep us updated if you add to it.

My husband loves to fish, too!! Well, I love fishing as well, but I just don't go that often, but still, I'll bet we'd love that one!

We love Clue, too. We play "Master Detective Clue" with more rooms, weapons, and suspects. Lots of fun. It WAS an 80s thing but they've reprinted it now. Yours is adorable, though. :D I just repurchased "Tribulation." I got it for Christmas in 1981 and LOVED it. My kids loved it and finally wore out/lost enough of the discs that I needed to buy another one. We also loved Survive. I need to replace that, too. As a kid, I think it was probably Monopoly. We actually had week-long tournaments. We'd make decisions that ensured it took longer to keep playing until the week nearly ended and then it became cutthroat. SO fun. But at home, we played a lot of Aggravation on a handmade board my uncle made. LOVED that one. Also a lot of Scrabble. I know if Bananagrams or Quiddler had existed, those would've been big ones. OH... More than anything... card games. Regular decks, Uno, and Skip-Bo
@mitzireadsandwrites Жыл бұрын
Oh my goodness, Skip-Bo- we've played that one so many times, too!! I've never heard of Tribulation.

@@mitzireadsandwrites It's a Milton Bradley game of... 100? Squares with numbered tiles in them (0-9, that change every time you play). You draw a disc with a number on it (1-50 I think??) and you have to use 3 tiles in a row to add/subtract/multiply/divide to get the final number answer. So you might get 37 and see 752 in a diagonal on the board and go 7X5=35+2=37 or whatever. We joke that it's kind of like a crossword for numbers.

You would love the Book Nook in our town. Not only do they sell used books, but they also sell vintage and collectible games. We played Settlers of Catan a lot for a while, and Ticket to Ride. My husband gravitates to word games like Perquackey, Boggle, or Scrabble. When larger groups get together we like Apples to Apples. The Bride game was a hoot, I had never seen that one!
@mitzireadsandwrites Жыл бұрын
Ticket to Ride is my favorite game!! I usually choose that one when it's my turn to pick a game. We also play Catan a LOT, too. Perquackey? I don't know that, but I love word games, so I'll look into it.

Great video! We are kindred spirits! Clue is my favorite as well. I found a 'Murder She Wrote' game at a thrift store a while back. I also picked up Electronic Detective on Ebay. It was a game my older brother had but he wouldn't let me play. I rectified that as an adult and got my own copy! I still hear the gunshots when you start a new game! Can't wait for your other video about the board games your family plays.

My favorites were Risk and Electronic Detective. I still have both though do not plat Risk anymore--too long! As a kid I had Happy Days and Bonkers and my grandparents had Masterpiece and Probe. We still do family game nights--next one is this Friday at my daughter's. I do a lot of solo gaming too. Enjoyed this video and looking forward to the next game video!

Mitzi, I've seen you on Kate Howe's book discussions, and I can't believe I wasn't subscribed to your channel. I loved this video! When my boys (now 27 and 24) were little, I started "re-buying" the board games I remembered as a kid. My favorites are "Gambler" "Whosit" "Hang on Harvey" "Probe" "Mastermind" "Clue" and "Mystery Date" which was a lot like your Barbie Game, but had a door in the middle. Gambler is still one of our favorites. Happy Victober Eve to you ❤

This is a fun video. I love board games. Flash Gordon and The Bride games look so cool. And, the character cards for Clue are cute. A board game growing up (still have it minus the box) that I loved to play is Pay Day. I’d even play it by myself acting as two players. 😂 And, Clue is a favorite of mine as well. I use to have a Family Feud game and a Price is Right game. I have no idea what happened to them. Board games are a fun way to spend time with family and friends. 😊

My eldest son picked a game when was younger - fan of sharks! - called Survive.i think it came out in 1982 and that's the one we have, but there was a 30th anniversary one. He and I really like that one. My husband and younger son are not as big on board games.

All your videos this week have been so much fun! I want you to adopt me as the "boys" bonus grandma so I can come and visit your home. (I would like to see a clip of Millie.) I think my brothers and I played a lot of Candyland when we were small. It's not really a board game but my husband and I played Rummikub by the hours when we were dating.

I had Candyland, too! I loved Candyland because I wanted to go there- yum! I've seen Rummikub in stores, but never played it. and thanks for the sweet grandma comment- so sweet of you. I'll try to add some Millie clips. She's old and mostly naps now, but she's my baby girl and oh how I love her. 💕
