Very nice video! Bought vintage brass floor lamp today @ estate sale didnt see rusty bottom underneath base...pole is painted w little rust but will just clean it up...no shade has white glass top i like it for $10 it works! May try brasso.

Very nice restoration... If I were to make a suggestion. I would replace the cord to one with a ground wire included. My reasoning is that the entire lamp is made of a conducting metal therefore if in any way the hot wire comes into contact with the metal parts it will trip the breaker and you can rest assured that you or any of your family would be safe from getting electrocuted.

Very nice, I too, love to restore old lamps....:-} although I haven't tried it, I hear that a heated lye bath will clean up brass really well with just a soaking....I might try it sometime.

Hello! I bought a vintage floor lamp, it supposed to be ok but when it arrived I saw it was quite loose the pole and everything. Is it possible to fix that? With some glue for brass or things like that?

Try to check if there is a screw holding it together as it was in my lamp and tighten it.

he hee my chandelier light restoration was > save the crystal. The are sweet for rain bowls of light, reflecting off the sun rays, like rear view mirror on your car. hang up out side ect all they can see is red, blue, green, yellow coming at them flashing different colors

Σε ευχαριστώ πολύ Γιάννη!! Τα μπρούτζινα τα γυάλιζα ....20 δευτερόλεπτα το κομμάτι όπως φαίνεται και στο βίντεο!!! 😄😄😄 Μου πήρε αρκετή ώρα αλλά βρήκα ένα κόλπο. Επειδή υπήρχε πολλή βρωμιά στην επιφάνεια τα έτριβα με το συρματάκι και στις πιο δύσκολες περιπτώσεις χρησιμοποίησα και γυαλόχαρτο 1000 & 1200. Με ύφασμα.... ακόμη θα έτριβα!! 😄👍

@@RustisGold εχω δοκιμασει παντος σε πολυ βρωμικα μπρουτζινα δουλευει πολυ καλα και rust remover,στο καθαριζει και μετα στο αφηνει θολωμενο οπου και το γυαλιζεις.

@@RustisGold i hope i didn't sound offensive. it's a lovely lamp, and you did a grand job restoring it. i recently restored an old student oil lamp. the dome and the chimney were an odd size, a nightmare to find and cost a fortune!

You were not offensive at all! I thought about the glass dome shade but the restoration took place during the quarantine lock down and it was impossible to find it... Plus as I mentioned in my previous comment my daughter wanted it (with the white top) for her apartment so.... everyone was happy! 😊👍

Rust is Gold I collect these sorts of lamps, and ironically, I have more of the glass shades than I do the actual lamps themselves! Usually it’s the other way around. I find myself having to carefully store these large antique pieces of glass

Είχα περιπέτειες με τον Κορωνοϊό... Ευτυχώς όλα καλά, την πέρασα ελαφριά αλλά έμεινα σε καραντίνα 3 εβδομάδες στα Ιωάννινα (εκεί διαγνώστηκα θετικός). Ετοιμάζω τώρα καινούργιο project! Ελπίζω μέχρι τα μέσα Δεκεμβρίου ή το αργότερο τα Χριστούγεννα να το ανεβάσω στο KZbin. Έχει αρκετή δουλειά, είναι ένα BBQ, αλλά πολύ ιδιαίτερο! ...Η συνέχεια επί της οθόνης!!! 😊👍

Be careful if you’re Stiffel lamp is under forty years old, it is brass plated and zinc underneath. It’s a very thin plate so you can easily burn right through it. Then you have to get it replated

All you have done is ruined a lovely patina which has taken many years to build up and now it looks like a brand new one which is awful!
