The first dress you showed is really beautiful. I'm so happy to hear you've been able to reopen. My Mom got married in 1984, she was 15, and pregnant, and wore a really cool Bohemian looking lace babydoll dress with knee high moccasin boots. I wish more people would wear unique bridal dresses, I do makeup for bridal parties, and all of the dresses I see are so similar.
@-MaryPoppins-4 жыл бұрын
They all look exactly the same, they appear and feel low quality, and they’re boring 😥 of course every bride can do as she pleases, and they always look ethereal, but boy is it refreshing to see a bride who allows her personality to shine through her dress!!

During COVID there have been several people struggle to keep their businesses going. Tough times have so many people giving up on their businesses and closing down. You had additional troubles to overcome with the looting. And I’m so pleased you persevered!! You inspire me and others. Your website outlines your inventory well. But the KZbin channel animates your inventory. Your dialogue brings your pieces to life. I value your weekly episodes. I cannot wait to someday visit in person. The gift dress from your clothes cleaner, i must say is probably the most exquisit and beautiful dress ive seen in my whole life. The embrodery, the fabric and that triangular cut around the chest and shoulders area with that embroided details in the edges, i think it is just amazing. And the Fire dress, so beautiful in its unconvencional way. Crazy but kind of clean too, just exquisit. Ive seen your videos for years, and i must thank you for expose all of us to such amount of beauty. Saludos desde Chile 🐀✨🇨🇱

I'm glad to learn your shop has been able to reopen. I don't know h ow you had time to film for us while revamping the store! I appreciate the effort it took. This episode was wonderful. When I was 10 I purchased at a thrift store a 1930's wedding dress that I loved, and I had every intention of wearing it when I was older. Unfortunately, 10 year old me wasn't fully grown and I outgrew the dress. The 1930's dresses brought back lovely memories.

Someone finally wore my mother's 1937 silk satin wedding gown-me in my 70's, seven years ago! I had to cut off the cathedral train and hem it to ankle length as the train was age spotted, but the gown is an ornate Queen Anne style. My mother was 19 years old. She had 8 bridesmaids in what she called 'a rainbow wedding'- each gown of identical style was in a different pastel colour. A page boy helped with the gown's train. I also have the silk floor length slip that was worn under the gown, which is still beautiful and could be a wedding gown today.

I would love to dress up in vintage or historical for my wedding. History has really done quite beautiful work which doesn’t compare to the dresses of today since craftsmanship back then is done impeccably and they really fit the figure and the fashionable silhouette of the times. I would wear an 1860s or 1890s dress that is absolutely gorgeous with black detailing as a contrast to the ivory silks.

The Lucille gown is scrumptious. The dress that made Doris’s heart skip a beat, made my heart skip one too. I think right after that dress she showed one that had a slip underneath, and it reminded me of a dress a girl I knew at dormitory wore a dress very similar to that one on a date one evening. She looked great in it. I just adore these vids, Doris, so thank you.

The 80s confection is likely Murray Hamburger. I worked in bridal in the 80s when I was a college student. It was so much fun! The spliced flame dress is amazing. The first dress with the interesting seam lines (appears bias cut) reminds me of Schiaparelli. The Lucille is just killing me. That silk velvet is to die for.

I love this channel. I have been watching since it started on network tv. My mom wore a light blue “suit” skirt and jacket in 1965.. to get married. White dresses were not common.. a lot of people got married at home.. and even wedding rings were not common ..jewelry was still kind of frowned upon as Gaudy.. they had watches with jewels inside instead as a gift to each other.. I know I don’t speak for everybody. Don’t come at me..when I got married in 2000 my mom bought me the biggest ball gown u can imagine.. I could hardly walk. 😁🤣
