When I was in the Army, back in '91 or so, we were in the middle of a 2 week field exercise at Ft Hunter Liggett. While digging foxholes, my squad found some buried rations from the early '50s. The peanut butter was still delicious, I just had to stir in the oil that rose to the top. It was the only food still edible.

The Chef Boyardee cheese made me miss their boxed spaghetti dinner. The box would have a can of sauce and can of Parmesan cheese. They changed it to a pack of cheese, I think. Then they cancelled that food line altogether. My Mom called it Grandpa’s spaghetti.
