If you ever happen to get the chance, come to southern California! In Burbank there is a restaurant called Bob's Big Boy and every Friday they have a classic car show and since the restaurant is the original and stays true to its 50s aesthetic its an amazing experience!💖

When I was high school (early ‘80’s) my brother had a ‘67 Pontiac GTO. It was red with white rag top and a his/hers shifter on the floor. I loved that car.

4:43 That is either a 1949 or early 1950's Nash Ambassador. It was not the final iteration, but Lord knows that Nash Automobiles tended to be relatively sensible cars.

For me, my favorite is the 1957 Ford with the Lifeguard Package. The Lifeguard Package was the first attempt from an American Company to incorporate better safety. The package included a deep dish steering wheel to reduce likelihood of impairment (collapsible columns were not yet a thing), a new design of door lock that would hold the door in place during a crash if locked in order to reduce ejection or the likelihood of dangerous debris, safety glass on the rear view mirror as well as the by-then standard safety glass on windshields, and for 1957, a front hinged hood that could not fly open if the latch failed and child proof rear doors, if rear doors were present, and was complimented by a new frame design that fully enclosed the passenger compartment to ensure passengers remained inside the structurally stiffest part of the vehicle. As an upgrade to this package, you could spec dashboard and sun visor padding and lap belts. (Modern shoulder harnesses were not invented until 1959). I would not go for the most powerful motor options, because they were really really fast and might encourage future children learning to drive to do things they shouldn’t; they were popular as police cars in part because they were as fast as anything else on the road with the most powerful engine options. Nevertheless, knowing your love of the 1950s, I would look at a ‘57 Ford with the lifeguard package (including the padded dashboard and sun visors and the lap belts) as a starting off point.

My Dad had a 59 Chevy with the big wings on the back. It was a blue color. Very beautiful. I loved all the cars! Your parents car was a winner!

Hi Lacey, Love the video with you and the vintage cars. My favorite is the 50's Pontiac convertible. You look like your riding in a movie studio lot in the 50's as a Hollywood star. My all time favorite is the 1959 Caddy. That is when cars had style and luxury on them. Not like our throw away cars of today. Hope you find your dream car.

You know what cute little car I have not seen in decades, but would love to see? A Nash Metropolitan! They were such unique cars. When I was a kid in the 1950s, a neighbor had a darling two-tone turquoise and white Metropolitan. I think they stopped making Metros around 1961 (sigh.)

What a great car show! I'm partial to the Corvettes. My dad has a white exterior/blue interior/removable hardtop '59 that he has completely restored. Until a couple of years ago, it didn't have the original motor. Can you believe he went back to the individual who sold it to him (about 30 years ago) and they found the original motor in a pasture?! It has been hidden all of those years! He confirmed the serial numbers, had it overhauled by his personal and trusted mechanic and it's now back under the hood. I'm an only child so eventually, it will be mine. I've only driven it once but have ridden in it many times. He stores in his airplane hanger (a man of many "toys"). I need to get updated pictures of it (recently had the chrome redone again) and share them with you. Thank you for the great video! Loved your dress, too. :)

I love restored vintage cars! My dad's driver , for dad's open wheel sprint car, had one of the corvettes you showed. His was red. He always took us for rides when he came to our house. It was so cool!! My dad had a 1950 fire f150. That is the vintage car/truck I want. Red! Like my dad's.

That Pontiac Catalina convertible is soo cool! Years ago I used to volunteer for my children's school Classic American Car Show fundraiser. For 10 years I handled registration & raffle prizes-- the car owners are hands down one of the coolest & most generous group of folks I have ever met. You looked gorgeous in all those cars!

My paternal grandmother was working at a restaurant back in the 1950s and she is still remembers what it was like back in the 1950s. She is 89 years old now and she has 22 great-grandchildrens! My father was born in 1959 and he remember the cars of the 1960s and he use to watch tv in black and white back them! My father saw Elvis Presley on tv in 1977, the same year he went to see the first Star Wars movie at the age of 17! I was born in 1992 and was playing in an amateur theatre play back in 2014 and the story of of the show was set in the 1950s.

Of course, the other interesting one is that the last iteration of Nash Ambassador had some unique layouts in the suspension that were supposed to handle and ride better, and they had a unibody type construction, which is more crashworthy all else equal (you can make body on frame crashworthy, but unibody is easier and in the absence of good crash technology it is typically the better choice). I would look at the Nash Ambassador or a 1957 Ford with the Lifeguard Package.
