I had one of those back in the 70’s. Got it new, they were good units.

Cool find. BTW, I worked at the Shack 40 years ago, all of the handheld CB's came with ch 14 in them.

Nice find. All I've got left from my CB days is a 40 channel GE hand held. I miss my old Johnson Black Face that kicked into a 150 watt linear and beam.
@TheRealCobraBurnout3 жыл бұрын
that Johnson CB sounds interesting. Is it one from the 50s/60s?
@raymondd57963 жыл бұрын
@@TheRealCobraBurnout Not totally sure. I got it used in about '73. It was a real workhorse. Did manage to eat up the high voltage output tubes though.

@@raymondd5796 Still, sounds like a cool one to have and fix up potentially.

I picked up a pair of Realistic TRC-100B walkie talkies today. They're very clean and solid. I'll clean up the corrosion and pop some batteries in them. My daughter has no idea why I was excited to find them at a thrift store :) She's 22.

i found a set from a goodwill, but mine are the trc-202 but used this exact form factor. do you know where i can find any documentation for them? manuals, circuit diagrams, accessory options, anything?
@TheRealCobraBurnout Жыл бұрын
I can't seem to find digital copy online but I see an ebay set with the actual manual. Might be worth messaging them and see if they would email pictures of it. Doesn't look to thick. www.ebay.com/itm/175400386079

Most often, there was no difference in the range for 3 Watt or 5 Watt, but the higher sensitivity of the receiver helped more, which can be seen by the greater amount of noise. Moreover, the 3Watt versions usually had better modulation. Yours are obviously sensitive. Some of them are very insensitive, there is almost no noise. The first Heathkit radios from around 1965 with a power of 100mW were cool, everyone wanted one. They were the original USA.
