Vintage decor THRIFT HAUL for my 1940s HOME | Lots of vintage brass!

For picture frames that have raised edges I like to use them as trays. I have one in my bedroom for jewelry and another in my bathroom on the back of the toilet for lotions and extra TP.

I am jealous of your chair - it is beautiful. I just found your channel and just subscribed so will have a bit of catching up to do. I wanted to mention that we also own a house that was actually built in 1941 and we are the 4th owners, since it was built. Our house does not have as many updates or as much room on the main floor as yours, but it does have all of the original woodwork and hardware (except the bathroom doors were painted white) and we also have 2 archways, one at the foyer and the other between the LR and DR. What I really love is the coving. Every room has it except the bathroom and kitchen. We have a 3 seasons porch added on that has the ship lap woodwork. In it I have a desk that was made from the walnut tree in my grandparents' yard. On it I have a typewriter from the 40's, a gooseneck lamp from the 40's and a dial desk phone from the 40's (not connected). There is also a reproduction fan on the desk that is very similar to the ones of that era. I actually have 2 fans from the 40's but with the large areas between the metal cover, feel it's too dangerous with 4 cats and their curiosity. There is also a Mission style loveseat and rocker out in this area. It's much more like a room than a porch. There are 3 fairly tall bookshelves full of books. Mostly mine as books are my weakness. I am much older than you are but still look forward to seeing the way you choose to decorate your lovely home.

How cool to also have a home from the 1940s, I love my old home, they have so much charm and stories that have lived in them. Oh my I can’t believe it!!!! It is exactly like the desk chair I found at our local thrift store. It wasn’t $2 hahaha. But exactly matches it! ❤❤❤

If you have a brass candlestick, try using it under the candelabra; sit the central brass knob into the hole in the top of the candlestick. I think you have part of a two piece arrangement where you add the top part to increase the lighting and to make it fancier ( One candle converted to four candles).

The cake was a great find for $2!! I love collecting little antique or old vintage wooden side chairs, the ones with and without upholstery, just to sit around my home too. Mostly for decor but some can be functional as well. Yeah there's a few that are beautiful but not safe to sit in😄 The brass bowl is really pretty! Google Lens the bowl! You'll find out the age & value! I use it on everything, you can even identify plants, so many uses! Alot of people are starting to use it now, its a great free tool on cell phones! The duck looks like it may have a corn husk body, which could be an old piece! He's really neat, very unique. I have a collection of corn husk dolls! Another piece I'd definitely google Lens! I've found some great finds for cheap, wouldn't have ever known had i not used my GL!! Lots of pretty frames! I love running good frames😊 Love the candleabra, battery operated candles would be pretty also, especially if you want to light them & not get wax on the piece. I have them with both, some wax, some battery. Really cute mirror! Cute alone, with another piece or added in a gallery wall! The wire hanger would be nice for pot holders, to hang dried flower bundles (upside down) A pretty small embroidered linen or a cute tea towel, a small wreath.. lots of options for sure!! I'm obsessed with old books..i have very few scream 1964. Most are 1800's-1950's. My bible collection is my favorite! I'm pretty sure the basket is copper.. nice piece! I love to collect copper & so many uses for baskets! That would make a great egg basket. Great haul.. enjoyed!😊

I am definitely going to do the Google lens! I am very curious about my duck, he is very unique! I love the idea of pot holders on the hanger or dried flowers!
